September 9 SOTE Head and Face Shave

    Good evening.

    Rockwell 6C (setting 6)
    Voskhod DE Blade (2,3)
    J T Spartan Synthetic Brush
    PAA/ King R Emporium SS
    Pinaud-Clubman Classic AS
    Stirling Alum Block
    Personal Care Witch Hazel
    Beard Growth: 27 hrs
    Dome Turf: 46 hrs

    20240909_185718.jpg

I picked out my Rockwell 6C because the Voskhod blade had only 1 shave on it and needed a relatively fresh blade to deal with my course dome turf plus my face.

I went with the PAA/King R Emporium soap because it produces a slick, rich, creamy lather. Here's my lather:

    20240909_190235.jpg

Did 3 passes on the dome and only 2 passes on the face for an error-free BBS shave all around. During each dome pass, I had to do more buffing than usual. I guess my dome turf was a little to much for this blade
Lol! I still got a fine shave in spite of it.

The alum feedback was non-existent on the dome, but the feedback on my neck was minimal. Splashed on the witch hazel and the Pinaud-Clubman Classic aftershave to finish this session. Take care.

Thanks Gary. Rockwell makes a fine razor and their synthetic brush isn't too shabby. Also, their shave soap is decent.

    Shaving Recipe for today.

Prep: Warm shower:/Bulldog Peppermint & Eucalyptus Shower Gel.

    Pre:
Cold wet flannel to my face & head.
Cien PURE Fragrance Free Sensitive Bar Soap.
    Brush: Wilkinson Sword Synthetic.
    Bowl Lather.
Bowl: Tesco's Ceramic 'Cosmo' Side Bowl.
    Lather: Proraso Sensitive shaving soap.
    Blade: Vidyut/Supermax Super Stainless. (D1)
    Razor: Merkur 39C.
Razor: Gillette Guard. (Head) - (D3)

    Post:
Cold Water Face & Head Rinse./Cold water face & Head wash with brush squeezing's,/Alum Rub./Cold Water Rinse./Homemade (~Spring/Summer mix~) Lemon, Eucalyptus, Tea Tree, Essential Oils, 5 Menthol Crystals Mixed Together With Care+Witch Hazel./Superdrug Sierran Breeze ASL./L'0REAL Soothing Birch Sap PSB.

    Greetings,

    (Face & Head Shave.)

I had all intention of using my Merkur 37C for my face shave but changed my mind at the last minute and used the 39C instead. I still prefer using the 37C over the 39C, as I prefer the shorter handle. Both razors however are smooth shavers.
The Proraso sensitive shaving soap created a nice creamy slick protective lather with only a small amount in a short space of time The residual slickness is excellent leaving a superb post-shave from the addition of the Aloe Vera and vitamin E making my mature skin feel soft & moisturized after the shave.

I will continue using the Vidyut/Supermax Super Stainless, Dorco Prime Platinum & the Gillette Wilkinson sword (Saloon Pack) and many more for a good while as I have such a large amount of blades to contend with and infrequently haven't gave them much use so I'll be using each blade for two shaves max then it gets binned regardless if I can get more shaves from them. A luxury can afford to waste.

Finishing the shave off with a few small dollops of L'0REAL Soothing Birch Sap PSB.

My face & precious swede are feeling smooth & smelling divine.;)

Keep safe, and enjoy your day ladies & gentlemen.

Hmm, never thought of fitting twin SE blades....

thanks Joe, no, not yet only up 7 from memory, used setting 6 this morning for a great result

There's a project right there Joe, one for the future perhaps ;)

    Thanks Gary

    Really elegant :happy088:

Very daring, that's putting your head on the block alright!

Thanks Joe, liking the Satsuma, but driving hard to finish it, taking longer than I thought

Well, longer handle or not, it does look the business. I must bring out my Proraso's again at some stage, I even think I might have Supermax tuck lying around somewhere...

    Super shave as usual Barry

The longer handle and extra weight of on the 39C is something I will eventually get use to. To my knowledge the SE twin blades only fit in the L Schick models, as the thickness of the blade is too thick for the earlier models. Supermax blades work well with my slant razors.

Hmm, OK so that means I can try that in my Hydromagic at some stage when that blade is dulled....more fun!

SE Shave # 408 - DECLARATION GROOMING MICROMATIC MONDAY - Pure Lavender

    Rating: 5 / 5

    Razor: GEM Micromatic Open Comb
    Blade: GEM Stainless
    Brush: Purple Haze Badger
    Pre-Shave: Pears Transparent Soap
Lather: Declaration Grooming/Chatillon Lux Pure Lavender
Aftershave: Chatillon Lux Pure Lavender Toner
    Additional Care:
    Omega Alum
    Dickenson’s Original Witch Hazel

Awesome the pass shave with the MMOC. Cool morning so I felt like going with the soothing scent of the Pure Lavender. Outstanding lather was whipped up by the badger brush. The usual results with the MMOC, super close, irritation free and no PTisms to boot.
