Wednesday: Goodfella Razor / Wilkinson (India) blade d1 / Pure Badger Brush / Cella Crema da Barba Soap / Booster Oriental Spice Aftershave

The Wilkinson (India) blades are great, smooth and comfortable.

I have been slacking and not posting my shaves lately. Sorry.

    Gillette President
    7 o'clock sharp edge
    Knotty Badger silvertip
    C&E Sweet Almond Oil cream
    C&E Sienna balm

Decent shave, but I wasn't particularly impressed with the SAO, but I think that was mostly because it was pretty dry. I need to use my Presidents more.

I forgot to post for Monday, and didn't shave yesterday.

    Today, 1/7/09:

Prep: Normal shower, OCM, massage under running water
Brush: my one and only Penchetta Penworks
    Soap: Institut Karite
    Razor: 1965 gillette Slim Adjustable
Blade: Gillette Super Platinum (black) day 1 (first time w/ this blade)
After: Thayer's Alcohol Free Original WH, TSD AS Balm 4711

Results: Good shave today. Only 2 passes, didn't want to push it....

EDIT: also really like the Super Platinum blade...seemed very sharp and smooth to me.

    Plural?

Give the SAO another try. I think it's pretty good stuff but borderline to floral for me.

i read on one of the SOTDs you used a DE blade in a valet. i tried to do it this morning but with little success, even with mild modification.

i would love to know how you did it :signs083

Yeah, plural, :o a Y1 and a Y3, I accidentally won the second one on ebay. I was sure I would be outbid. Eventually I will trade one probably, but I hate to let it go.

I will definitely give it another try. It is a sample, and I think it dried out, so next time I will try to use it like a soap.

    Wednesday 1/7 . . .

    • [*]Prep: Rite Aid Skin Cleansing Cream & Hot Towel
      [*]Brush: C&E BBB
[*]Superlather: Van der Hagan soap & C&E Sweet Almond Oil Cream
[*]Razor: '22 Gillette NEW Standard - Silver
      [*]Blade: Gillette 7 O'Clock SharpEdge (shave 14)
[*]A/S: Thayer's Lavender Witch Hazel Toner & Pinuad Clubman A/S
      [*]EDT: TSD Signature Scent

[*]Result: A very good 3 pass shave on the face and one pass on the head. Last shave with the SharpEdge. Could have gotten BBS but it was too late in the day to go for that. The superlather was better than the last batch I made. Need to watch mantic59's video again and again to get the hang of it.
