    Good Saturday morning. Again, I changed the shave plan at the sink of scrimmage. I decided to switch the aftershave to:

    Clubman-Pinaud Reserve(Gent's Gin).
    after hearing reports that humidity may be added to today's warmth. And again, the Rise SuperFoam struggled to leave the can, even after a lot of shaking. But once it DID leave, it felt good like ol'Rise from years past. Clean and clear all over. No cuts, Knicks, Polka-dots. One pass(as I do for canned shaving). After finishing the Rise, I may try for a Colgate(on eBay), but I won't do it if I have to pay a huge price for it. Course it would have tp say "Brand New". Course there's always good ol' Barbasol from stores. Such a shame-it's all about the slow exit thingy. Anyway- Most Outstanding overall-fine shave, but the struggle to get going is frustrating.

    Spring has arrived in Perth

    Saturday Switch up,
    to avoid getting stale, I felt the need to swap a few things around…

    1 Days growth

    Usual Prep and Preshave = Shave Faulding’s shave cream
    Cream/Soap =Truefitt & Hill Sandalwood
    Brush = Razorock 400 Plissoft Synthetic
    Bowl = Timeless
    Razor = Gillette Slim K3 today, @5
    Blade = Shark Super Stainless (1)
    Passes = 3 plus some touch ups
    Post = Usual CWR, Alum, rinse, pat dry, Thayers rose petal
    ASL = Pinaud Lime Sec
    Scent = Santal Spirit Sandalwood
    Score = 9.5 / 10 = Super Smooooooth
    Damage = 0

    A blade is a blade is a blade, right?

    Not...

    Am beginning to appreciate the differences. This Shark is a bit rough, sharp yes, but not smooth on Day 1 anyway. Due care was needed, hence 3 passes had to be done. The Alum told me I had done a good job anyway.

    Super Saturday to all TSD Shavers…

    Enough with the S’s already

    Great shave Chris. I have a tuck or two of Shark blades and haven't tried them out yet. They do have a rep of being a little rough so I am not ready to try them at this time.

    Good morning.

    Straight Razor Shave #574
    10/8 Max Sprecher (90)
    Catie’s Bubbles Tuxedo Brush
    Pedro Fiasco's Limencello SS and AS
    Stirling Alum Block Personal
    Care Witch Hazel
    Beard Growth: 43.5 hrs

    20240914_104303.jpg

    As promised earlier in the week, I brought out Max and Pedro Fiasco's Limoncello SS and AS. Before I shaved, I decided to refresh Max on my strop pasted with Crox (chromium oxide). It's my second refresh in 90 shaves. All I can say is viva la difference! Max mowed my beard growth very easily. Three passes for an error-free BBS result. The craftsmanship of this razor is unbelievable because I will eventually have over 100 shaves without doing a serious honing.
    Anyway, I just love the scent of Limoncello. It still is present after the shave and the lather is creamy and slick Here is my lather:

    I had very little alum feedback. Splashed on the witch hazel and the matching aftershave and I am smelling clean and refreshed. Take care.
