    Razor: Union Cutlery Banty 9/16”
    Brush: RazoRock Plissoft “Beehive” 28mm
Pre-Shave: Pears Soap - Mint Extract
    Lather: Stirling Sandpiper
    Aftershave: Floïd The Genuine
    Additional Care:
    Maggards Alum
    Thayer’s Witch Hazel - Original
    Nivea Sensitive Balm

Fantastic Stirling shave this afternoon. That is correct, I had early morning chores, followed by a trip to Planet Fitness for a sprint workout and then to the supermarket to pick up this evening dinner. I decided to continue with the three pass shave. The synthetic brush easily whipped up a nice lather. The end result was a super smooth and close shave with a minor alum report.

I am enjoying my final day here at the Southern den for this trip. The temperatures here are still reminiscent of summer with the temperature in the low 90’s. What say you Joe,@Trigger?

I will be making a quick turnaround in New York on Saturday to return here as I have to bring a car to keep at the Southern den . Long story. Upon my arrival here last Wednesday, my better half informed me that her uncle just purchased a new car and is gifting to us his old car. Hence, the return trip. Timing is everything. If this had occurred a week before I would’ve drove down for this trip. C’est la vie.

Wednesday Sept 18 (morning) - SE Supply, Synthetic, Semogue, Stirling and styptic September

Prep: Hot face wash with Aleppo olive oil soap w/ 20% bay laurel oil (traditional anti-acne)

Razor: Supply 2.0 matte black stainless steel injector w/ SE "nickproof" comb plate / Personna white box (7)

    Soap: Stirling Scots Pine Sheep

Brush: Semogue SOC cherrywood badger re-knotted with APShaveCo Tuxedo synthetic

    Lather Bowl: None

Post: rinse, alum, rinse, Stirling Scots Pine splash, styptic pencil

Last shave: Friday morning - 5 days

    The setup:

    IMG_20240906_173749_6_kindlephoto-381016627.jpg

    The result: excellent overall

I had a 5 day growth of stubble to remove. The synthetic brush did the usual superb job face lathering the Stirling sheep soap. Then I did two passes with the injector razor - one WTG and the second XTG everywhere. The result was DFS-level smoothness.

I did have one bloody nick on my chin. I wasn't surprised since I had been able to feel a slight skin outbreak under my whiskers and rather expected that I would wind up "topping" one or two pimples when I shaved. The alum rub and cold rinse failed to remove the traces, but the styptic pencil sealed it off.

I am back to using a traditional styptic pencil after binning that tube of ProRaso styptic gel that had dried out so quickly. The moistened pencil works equally well and should last for years as long as I don't drop it.

It has been a rather wet and gloomy fall weather here for the last couple days. The Scots Pine scent has been perfect for this time of year. However, I may break out my Stirling Vanilla Espresso Bean soap and splash for my next shaves. We will see...

Hope the week has been treating everyone well so far!

Question: have any of you ever had any experience with this razor - the Leaf?

    https://www.fendrihan.ca/products/leaf-shave-co-leaf-razor

It seems to be an attempt to make a multi-blade (3) cartridge razor that replaces the wasteful disposable plastic cartridges with 3 half-DE "salon" blades slotted into a permanent frame...

Several years ago, I tried this razor part of a pass around. It did give a great shave with the three blades as well as with a single blade. I just thought it was overkill. Also, I am not sure if the prolonged use of all three blades may lead to ingrown hairs.

If you have used the Floid Genuine Vigoroso then it is on par with it. I prefer the Vigoroso as I like the menthol feel to it. Both leave the face feeling fantastic.

Thanks. I hoped someone here had experience with the Leaf razor, and the 30DC did not disappoint!

I think the razor was designed to entice multi-blade cartridge users into using non-cartridge DE blade razors instead. But I really don't see why it would shave any better than a plain single-blade injector. As you said, this seems like overkill.

I hadn't considered the possibility of ingrown hairs. That is a common problem with multi-blade cartridge razors, so I suspect you are right about that being a probable risk with this one too.

I guess I can save my $115 CAD...

    Thanks, Joe.

    Good morning

    Schick E-3 Injector
    Schick Injector Blade (fresh)
    L'Occitane Plisson Synthetic Brush
    Pasteur's Gotham Bowery Boys SS
    Pinaud-Clubman Classic AS
    Stirling Alum Block
    Personal Care Witch Hazel
    Beard Growth: 48 hrs

I went with the easy shave so my Schick E-3 Injector with a fresh blade got the call.
I have used this razor many times and always get a nice shave, but it is aggressive so I have to have a light touch when using it. Still, I got a pinprick weep on my chin and some noticeable alum feedback on my neck.
However, I did get a three pass BBS result.

I went with Pasteur's Gotham City Bowery Boys soap because it smells nice and makes a nice lather. Also, I am trying to use up my samples. Here's my lather.

    20240918_094327.jpg

I finished my shave by splashing on the witch hazel and enjoying the goodness of the Pinaud-Clubman Classic aftershave. I am clean-shaved and smelling great. Take care.
