    Nice shave Chris. The Satsuma doesn't seem to want to end. Lol!

    thanks Joe

    I omitted to add in my post that I once again combined 1/2 scoop of Satsuma with the Sandalwood. Only 3/4 of a crescent of Satsuma left in the tin makes it harder to load from the tin.

    When I am at the bottom, I scoop out the soap on the side walls and push it toward the middle so there is nothing left on the sides. Therefore, everything is in the middle and I find it easier to load the brush.

    Fine shave this morning. 0:50 at the Loading Dock, although the brush looked pretty loaded at 0:30, frankly. Clean and clear along the cheeks&sideburns. Not as good at Porcupine Alley, as both ends had a Knick. Nice job down at Cactus Nation(neck). It's a great shave soap, it's just what you DO with it that matters. Hub City Soaps ia another Texas soap-base in Lubbock, TX. Course that's where Buddy Holly was born. I have another one besides Pages, and will get to that soon. 2 passes. Zero cuts and Polka-dots, 3 Knicks. The Pages A.S. helped clean off the Knicks, but not 100%. I've decided to be less critical of the Pages A.S. than I was last fall&winter. He did the best he could with it. Maybe the scent of the A.S. doesn't quite match that of the shave soap, but it's close enough. A Very Outstanding shave.

    Sample soap, SE razor, Sterling soap, Satsuma, Pura Setola, Sandalwood

    21 Sep 2024.jpg

    1 Days growth

    Warm water Prep and Preshave = Faulding’s shave cream
    Cream/Soap = Sterling Satsuma
    Brush = Pura Setola
    Bowl = Timeless
    Razor = SE GEM Micromatic Clog-Pruf: Pat 1739280-1773614 (1940s? 1930s?)
    Blade = GEM (1)
    Passes = 2 +
    Post = Usual CWR, Alum was HOT, rinse, pat dry, Thayers rose petal
    ASL = Imperial Leather
    Scent = Santal Spirit Sandalwood

    Getting near the end of SE September so it was high time for me to haul out a different SE I’ve had lying around on its lonesome….of course I felt I needed the protection of a decent lather, still working on the Satsuma

    Score = Would have to say this was a 9+ /10 shave in terms of smoothness, in fact a few hours later have re-rated this as a 9.5

    Took some getting used the GEM and the blade, very little audible feedback, 2 passes were Plenty with a few touch ups. The Alum was HOT, hotter than usual, but there was no blood shed so I am happy with that. I would have to say that it would take some adaptation to make this a daily shaver

    Damage = None

    Enjoy your Saturday and the weekend ahead
