    Sept 28 SOTM Head and Faceshave

    Good afternoon.

    Shavette Shave # 578
    Magic by Magic Barber
    Derby 1/2 DE Blade (2)
    Gillette Fatboy (9)
    Voskhod DE Blade (4)
    MrEE LE #10 Cashmere Brush
    Angora Soaps Midnight Lavender SS and AS
    Stirling Alum Block
    Personal Care Witch Hazel
    Beard Growth: 40 hrs
    Dome Turf: 4 days

    Definitely needed to shave this morning. Did 3 error-free passes on the face and dome for a very close, smooth and comfortable shave. I have to say that I am impressed with the Derby blades. It just takes down my scruff like it was nothing. The Voskhod blade also did well, but it is starting to get dull. I probably use it one or two more time for a face shave before it gets banked.
    It is a dreary day here on Long Island so I chose my Angora Soaps Midnight Lavender. It's scent is a great pick me up Besides, it makes a great lather. See below.

    I had virtually very little alum feedback on the face and dome. Splashed on the alum and the matching aftershave to end this session. Take care.

    Good enough shave this morning-should have been better, but I'll take the overall result. A minute at the Loadimg Dock for the Kairos 2022 soap(Grooming Dept.) I'll bet ALL GD soaps have that soft feel once it hits your face and neck. May have to order another when this one is done(to test my theory, if not enjoy the shave too lol). Good soft leather is the key ingedient to this soap. I had 3 Knicks , 2 at South Porcupine(chin) one at North Porcupine. It's always the same with Knicks-there's no pain they just show up. Clean clear everywhere else. 2 passes. The Fine Latigo helped neutralize the Knicks to become Polka-dots. Lovely aftershave, that. The soap is a nice "match" for it, I find. Course the Latigo soap is the better match, but it went fast. On he Latigo bottle, it just says "Classic Aftershave"(which it is indeed), not "Accoutrements". I wonder if the other newer Fines say that, too Pretty Outstanding for today....hope to do better tomorrow.

    Saturday 28 Sep 2024, late post

    Sample soap, SE razor, Sterling soap, Satsuma, Schick SE Blade, Sandalwood

    1 Days growth

    28 Sep 2024.jpg

    Usual Hot water Prep
    Preshave = Faulding’s shave cream
    Cream/Soap = Sterling Satsuma, now deceased
    Brush = Pura Setola
    Bowl = Timeless
    Razor = SE Lady Eversharp
    Blade = Schick (7)
    Passes = 3 +
    Post = Usual CWR, Alum, rinse, pat dry, Thayers rose petal
    ASL = Imperial Leather
    Scent = Santal Spirit Sandalwood EdT
    Score = 9.8 / 10
    Damage = none

    The Lady Eversharp was given the honour to bring to rest the final remains of the Satsuma Sterling sample soap
    The Satsuma label was duly removed from the tin and added to the hall of fame, tin washed and ready for the next occupant

    low res.jpg

    The Schick blade did well on its 7th outing, amazing stuff, so far haven’t had that from any of my DE’s. It did need 3 passes with more light buffing than normal, but it was well worth it. The Schick dispenser is empty but will be kept because it has the key, whereas my next dispenser doesn’t

    The Lady Eversharp has a really long handle and is a bit of challenge around the face, but works well for the back of the neck so no complaints there. Quite manageable for the ATG passes around the mouth and in front of the ears

    Super Smooth Start to the last Saturday of September. So far I have been more disciplined in my 30DC lineup than usual, it’s beginning to take its toll

    Hope you all have a fantastic weekend

    Thanks, Chris. Blue Stratos, in an old school classic, I have both the EdT & the A/S. Both are the modern versions of the original Shulton version.

    A change-of-shave at the sink of scrimmage for Sunday(29). I went with:

    prep-Dial 4 Men Bodywash(RECHARGE w/cedar leaf)in shower
    shave-Proraso Tub(Refreshing)
    brush-Crown King(Duro Spindle Tali)
    razor-Gillette Sensor Deuce Pivot DisposeABLE
    A.S>-Proraraso Refreshing

    Real good shave. A minute at the Loading Dock. Clean, clear shave all over. 2 passes. Goose-eggs on cuts,Knicks,Polka-dots. We have a few days of Indian summer here. That's why I changed to something cooler. Proraso Refreshing did the job. Good work with the Pro aftershave to close out. Very happy with the shave. As. Outstanding As It Gets.
