Did a 2 pass shave, but nicked myself on my neck and cheek. This razor is a square point and I didn't land correctly so I ended up poking myself in those areas. It happens. Lol! Thankfully, they were very minor so that the cold water and alum took care of them. I can't stress it enough on how important a soft touch is when shaving, especially with a straight. Anyway, despite the mishaps, I did get a close, comfortable shave.
Picked out the Seaforth Sea Spice Lime and it really is a fine soap. The scent and the lather is awesome. Here's my lather:



I had very little alum feedback. Hit my face with the witch hazel and that wonderful matching aftershave to complete this shave. Take care.

Prep: Warm shower:/Cien Moisture Shower Gel.

Pre:
Cold wet flannel to my face & head
Cien PURE Fragrance Free Sensitive Bar Soap.
Brush: Fine 24mm Synthetic.
Bowl Lather.
Bowl: Tesco's Ceramic 'Cosmo' Side Bowl.
Lather: Gillette Skin Ultra Sensitive Shave Cream.
Blade: Gillette London Bridge. (D1)
Razor: Yaqi DOC Mellon Razor Head./Schmidt R10 Handle.
Razor: Gallant II Platinum. (Head) - (D3)

Post:
Cold Water Face & Head Rinse./Cold water face & head wash with brush squeezing's,/Alum Rub./Cold Water Rinse./Homemade (~Autumn/Winter mix~) peppermint lavender, eucalyptus, + Tea Tree essential Oils Mixed Together With Care+Witch Hazel./Calvin Klein Eternity For Men ASL. /Nivea Men Replenishing PSB.

(Face & Head Shave)

A new shave set up to start the weekend...Maiden Shave with the Gillette Skin Cream which was a birthday gift in June from family and friends which I've just got round to trying out.

The verdict?. Absolutely superb, at first glance I thought it was brushless, It's a thirsty shave cream, adding only a small dollop to the mixing bowl with a few drops of water it created a slick protective lather in a short space of time, dipping the tips in water in between each pass. Overall a very acceptable shave cream, scent wise it has a pleasant clean nondescript fragrance with a small amount of menthol feel to the skin that didn't dry out on my skin in between passes leaving a good post shave feel...Superb stuff!.

Another close comfortable face & head shave with no errors to report.

Finishing the shave off with a few small dollops of Nivea Men Replenishing PSB.

My face & precious swede are feeling smooth and smelling divine.

Razor = Muhle R41 Open Comb Grande 92.5 grams
(Edit: as pointed out by our eagle eyed fox this is the R89 and not the R41. Somewhat different handle)
Blade = Feather (1)
Passes = 2++
ASL = Proraso Wood and Spice

No damage and another super smooth shave

Time to get my teeth back into the MWF…

Barry: as suggested this is a nice close shave combination. Not quite as ‘Open’ as some of my other OC razors, but this makes it a bit smoother. The extra weight adds some substance. The handle does need some alum, especially with the MWF to get some better grip

Thanks for the shout Chris. Glad to read the Feather pairing was a success, I use alum on a few of my razor handles, especially when using MWF. I always refer the R41 as a semi-open comb DE razor, which gives a deceiving impression of it's true efficiency. Enjoy your weekend.
