  2. Awesome shave Joe. I think it's safe to say that we can get better than DFS on two passes with a straight. The third pass is just the icing on the cake.

  7. October 24 SOTE

    Good evening.

    Gillette RedTip
Gillette Wilkinson Sword DE Blade (6)
    Parker Synthetic Brush
Seaforth Sea Spice Lime SS and AS
    Stirling Alum Block
    Personal Care Witch Hazel
    Beard Growth: 30 hrs

I am shaving this late in the evening because I have a 9 AM dental appointment and didn't want to rush my shave. I just want to do what I need to do and head out the door without rushing. Therefore, I picked my RedTip that is easy to use without getting nicks, etc. Three passes gave me a near BBS shave without any errors.
Picked the Seaforth Sea Spice Lime for tonight's shave because it provides a nice lather and smells awesome. Here's my lather:

Had some alum feedback on my neck, but no biggie. Splashed the witch hazel and the matching aftershave to end this session. Take care.

  10. The middle of my Clubman/Razorock threefer had problems at the beginning, but I rebounded OK in the end. Almost a repet of yesterday, but for the "problems". A minute at the Loading Dock. I should have done a better Rembrandt job on my cheeks for the first pass, but I knew I'd be doing a 2nd, so not much to worry about. 2 cuts, one on each end of Porcupine Alley. A combination of not enough soap(as mentioned)and going a little too hard. Fine elsewhere. I softened up for the second pass and did better. I know what I need to do at Porcupine tomorrow. This was yet another "live and learn" kind of shave for me. The redness isn't COMPLETELY gone, but it's neutralized due to the cold-water rinse and A.S. Nice finish from the Clubman A.S. Pretty Outstanding.

    (Face & Head Shave)

A new shave set up to start the weekend...It's been a while since I last added the Gem Micromatic (OC) to my razor.
to my razor rotation. The Micromatic SE (OC) fitted with the GEM PTFE blade is my most assertive vintage duo I have. As with any razor shaving confidence, a light touch, & good technique are the key to a comfortable close shave especially the Gem Micromatic (OC).

Another close comfortable face & head shave with no errors to report.

Finishing the shave off with a few small squirts of Hugo Boss Dark Blue EdT pulse points.

My face & precious swede are feeling smooth and smelling divine.;)

Stay safe, and enjoy the start of the weekend ladies & gentlemen.

  12. Grazie Joe
    Thanks Gary

fine cuban and gold shave setup Gary: why the holes in the cap of the Goodwill? Just curious

Can’t go wrong with the MWF. Nice to see another MM OC in regular use
  13. Terrific shave and setup Barry. Headahaving with a GEM MMOC definitely needs a soft touch.

  14. Thank you, Joe. The need of a soft touch ,good technique & shaving confidence is required when face or head shaving with the GEM MM OC.
  15. Thank you Chris. Regular use is the path to successful comfortable shaves when using the GEM MM OC. It's good to focus on just using 1 razor/ blade for a long period of time occasionally you learn to get to know the razor & get the best from it, + gaining good technique by doing so.
  16. Indeed Barry. I am chopping and changing in the theme of Occasional October atm, but should really settle down to the 30 day focus at some stage to justify posting here;). Maybe soon enough.
  17. A little better this morning than the previous 2 mornings. The change to my other Razorock soap could be a factor in that persuasion. I did very well, except down at Cactus Nation where I developed a couple scares. They weren't as bad as what happened during the previous 2 shaves, but..well, in the end I'll call them "Red Ball Sunsets". Thus, Zero cuts,Knicks, Polka-Dots, and the 2 Red Ball Sunsets. 2 passes. Good jobn with the Clubman A.S., the "tingle" feel happened again. Worx for meeee(HAAAAH-long long breath). Very Outstanding.
