Well, I was debating on either:
1948-50 Aristocrat solid bar in 24k
    or
1934 Aristocrat open comb in 24k.
The 1934 with the Open Comb won out, and is enroute to be plated, by BackRoadsGold.

  2. Very nice. My Gillette Slim arrived today at Razorplate.com, cannot wait to see how it turns out in a few weeks.

Make sure you post before and after pics.

  4. Absolutely. Now that I think of it, I certainly should have taken some more detailed before photos before I had sent the razor in.

Beautiful work. The 1934 US made Aristocrat as well as the British Aristocrats are some of the best looking DE razors made, in my opinion.

Back Roads Gold received my 34 Aristocrat yesterday, it is finished and ready to be mailed out today. Less than 24 hrs. I got the finished pics from them and "WOW" is all I can say. As soon as it arrives, I will post the before and after pics.

Aren't they the same razor, but different case?

    I don't know. You're probably correct. I just shave with it. ;)

    All stunning razors...

Can someone clear up my confusion, where it says G4 on blade

Does that mean the blade, the blade bank or somewhere on the razor?

If it's the blade, these are long gone therefore the sets can no longer be identified, right?

    Dumb question, I know :D

They can, by the cases. The 1934 has the leather case, like what I have, and if a gold case, then it's a 1936. Unknown if all the markings on the razor are the same. If so, then the razors are the same. The case I have is in pretty bad shape, and needs new leather. I'm not sure how I'm going to replace that, or have it done somewhere. If anyone has experience with this, shoot me a PM and tutor me on how to do it correctly.

No, they are not - the design was evolving throughout 30's
Left to right - 1934, 1936, 1940 - take a close look at the head!

    1934 Gillette Aristocrat. USA Made.
    Replated by BackRoadsGold
    24k Gold

    Before:
Almost all the gold was worn off, and its finish was almost all brass. These photos were after I scrubbed and cleaned the razor up. It was much worse before that.

My photos cannot due this razor justice. Flawless. No details lost, with crisp knurling, and no loss in letters/numbers stamped on it.
