The Vintage Life Licorice Shave Soap lathered well with the Jayaruh #188 synthetic brush. Two passes and touch ups with the Gillette Tech and the Personna Stainless Steel Blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Derby City Chop Shop Winter Reserve After Shave. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

The Personna Super Stainless blade goes back into its wrapper for another day. That is 81 shaves so far.

End of my mini focus: 7 shaves with this setup
Getting bored with the 37C, I find the Kai a bit rough on the first day or two, the Semogue Finest Badger is one of my better brushes. Razorock XXX can take a fair bit of water, but even when "dryish" doesn't clog the razor
Also getting bored with the Pinaud Clubman, relegated to the back of the cabinet for now

Thanks for your excellent posts. When shaving was a chore, it was one razor, one shave cream, and one aftershave with few to no thoughts about varying the daily task at hand. Nowadays, I change up my shave almost every day.

My dear brother Jaco in Pretoria, South Africa makes such awesome soaps and balms - they’re so wonderful. He has two versions of the Cool as a Cucumber soap - one has no menthol and this X3 type which is so freaking frigid that it competes with any of the Glacial soaps. This is a glycerine soap that closely resembles the Yeti Snot soap, along with the cucumber scent there’s a really nice peppermint note, it lathers so thick, rich, with lots of slickness, the menthol sensation is killer cold, and it gives EXCELLENT postshave care. The Stoffel balm is another terrific creation with a super duper scent and it’s icy cold as well as soothing, and the Floid Vigoroso aftershave went on with a strong menthol kick along with its beautiful old school barbershop scent that I love so much. Three passes did a masterful job of cleaning me up - another brilliant BBS shave that I enjoyed to the max!
