    80 swirls? Would take me a looong time to match that, and I'd be bored by that time anyway.

    1 Days growth
    Similar setup…
    Soap = Lea soap
    Brush = Pura Setola, soaked, shaken lightly
    Bowl = coconut decorative bow
    Razor = No 66 Gillette birth year Aristocrat: 5th time out
    Blade = Vintage Gillette super stainless (2)
    Post = Usual CWR, Alum, rinse, pat dry, Thayers rose petal, Nivea Balm
    ASL = Clubman Whiskey Woods
    Scent = Bulgari Wood Essence
    Damage = none
    Passes = 2 plus necessary clean ups

    The No 66 and the Vintage Gillette Blade were super smooth, perhaps a little less sharp on Day 2 but another gratifying and fun shave
    Have a great Thursday one and all

    glad you are enjoying the 66 Chris.:cool::bounce017:it's the mildest of the 4 aristocrats but is the smoothest also imho.i believe the #66 and the #58 to be the pinnicle of gillettes..after these models were discontinued in the early 60's? the razors just became cheap and soulless..;)

    Great report as usual Barry: I must say I miss my Brut aftershave. Is that splash-on the same/older/newer?
    Thx Gary

    Thank you Chris. The difference between the Brut aftershave & splash-on lotion is the aftershave contains menthol the splash-on doesn't. Also the splash-on is weaker than the aftershave which is weak enough to be used as a all over body splash.The aftershave is meant for after shaving, but both make a great post shave application. Apparently the Cologne version is the strongest out the three scent wise & longevity. I also have some various other newer scent versions of Brut splashes which can be found on line...I've never had the pleasure of trying the original Fabergé version of either. The new version is ready available on the high street & supermarkets in the UK.

    I'm going through a den clearance at the moment and have started to use up various Items that I've had for quite sometime. I have also passed on quite a few DE razors to family & friends that will put to good use. I like to do a den clean out every so often, it make me appreciate what I have more. Having to much of something isn't always a good thing you don't have the time to appreciate it. I haven't actually bought any shaving related soft/hardware for ages, purely because I don't need to. I intent to carry using "High Street/Supermaket that are ready available shaving products in my shave setups for the next few months and beyond.
    Regards- Barry.

    Well, shux....some Throwback Thursday shaves just don't qualify for the highest grade, and I must accept that. This morning being one of them. The Mike's Natural jumped onto the Stoylin brush-THAT was good. I got a clean, clear shave in most places. Problems on each side of South Porcupine(chin)in the form of a cut and a Knick(left and right sides respectively). No Polka Dots,Red Ball Sunsets. Boy, did I get that tingling feeling from the Bill Neumann! As I wrote earlier, I think the 1911 is the choice for me in the future. Course I'll finish the others while I have them, but it's 1911 time after that. It's great to see in the reviews how parents are buying Bill Neumann items for their children as they(the kids)begin their "shaving lives". They remind me of me when I was using Clubman as a shaving "rookie". Still love it, as we know :). Anyway...Pretty Outstanding for today.
