Efficient Sunday shave Barry!

 

It was an efficient shave Chris. Parker razors for me are medium leading to aggressive in efficiency, depending on the blade choice. The Duru Sharp blades have a nice balance. The TTO models, which are all the same head are slightly less efficient than the three piece models. I actually like efficient razors now that my technique & shaving confidence has vastly improved.

Boy, did I need that 2nd pass today! I somehow made it through the first one; my mind appeared to be on too many things other than shaving. That isn't good. No damage done at least. Happy for THAT. I snapped out of it before the 2nd pass and coached myself to the fact that I wasn't done shaving. Chiseled Face was the first company I became aware of as a member here. In the end(after the 2nd pass)I felt better. Their Sherlock is a nice one for this time of year. Good job with the Sherlock A.S. and decided to close with Halston Cologne. Overall, I know I can do better shaves-just need to put my mind to it(so to speak). I'll give mself a As Mediocre As It Gets,

I could have waited until tomorrow to shave, but I wanted to be clean shaven for church this evening. I went with the Frederick Reynolds that was piffed to me awhile ago. It really is a sharp straight that I needed to be extra vigilant due to the square pt design.
Three error-free passes gave me a BBS result that would pass almost pass the cotton ball test.

Went with my favorite soap to make my shaving experience more pleasurable. Here is my lather:



The alum was mostly silent. Finished with the witch hazel and matching splash. Take care.

Continuing with the Bay Rum/Dark Scent focus for the month of November. I put the
B & M Season of the Witch in the dark category based on the name. Here is the scent description:
“Inspired by the deep-rooted history of witchcraft in New England, here is an elixir of arcane delight, a construct of hypnotic, narcotic allure. The dulcet tones of broom flowers, so captivating in their elegance, are blended with notes of violet and honeysuckle, flowers known to waylay and ensnare the unwary.

Beneath this enrapturing accord, ripples of power lurk. The green dustiness of tarragon, the spicy tang of nutmeg and wormwood, and elemental, primordial notes of oakmoss, oud, and wood smoke bubble from the depths, bathing the flowers in their eldritch glow. Mossy and primeval, floral and herbal.”

I broke down a few weeks back picking up this sample of soap as well as another from B & M.
I am truly impressed by the scent of this soap. It is intoxicating. I will have to pick up the splash from Maggards as it is sold out on the B & M site. This will be one of those soap that I will have to keep in my den. I might even try it with the DG Darkfall splash as it might pair very nicely.

As for the shave, the Dovo Shavette with the Persona Hair Shaper blade delivered a super smooth and close shave. I easily would have been presentable with just one pass.
