Hope your New Year is starting off right! Even with the economy being down somewhat, I've seen some great hauls here lately...keep those pics coming!
Some new items I was runnign some errands today, and was in the local Truefit & Hill store talking to one of the old barbers... ended up looking around the shelves and every time I do, in invariably end up purchasing something... o KENT Luxury Shaving Soap (never used Kent, can't wait to try) o D. R. Harris & Co. Ltd Bay Rum Aftershave
Still waiting for my Rancilio Silvia espresso machine - man I hate all these holidays that keep delaying even express shippings...
I got my Toggle. I knew when purchasing it that the adjustment dial turned but the tray didn't move, but I for some reason thought (hoped) that a nice long bath in an ultrasonic cleaner would fix it. It didn't. I will post pictures once I re-assemble it. (I will photograph the entire process.) Any one know of a good tool to push small pins out?

Very nice Yukio! :drool :drool....I know what the 77mm filters are for......does your new 50mm take a 58mm filter?
Thank you, Rene, I’m also giddy with excitement. I can’t wait to try them in some beautiful place. Of course, I’ll post the results here. Neale, absolutely, it’s for the 50mm f/1.4.
most recent acquisitions wasn't sure where to put this, this looks like the right place, but if it's not, mods feel free to hop on one leg, pat your belly, rub your head and sing kumbaya.... anyway, here's a few things I nabbed just before Christmas down in Jefferson (they've all since been cleaned up, and look quite nice!) a travel tech, a pair of flair-tip superspeeds, and a Gem Micromatic I also nabbed these: I grabbed the Gem mainly 'cuz I liked the handle: before we got out for Christmas break, I stopped by the local antique store I frequent, and was given this: (remember, these pics are pre-cleanup!) and last but not least, I was given this last day of school before Christmas break by the wood shop teacher. I frequently stop by there and chat with him (usually 'cuz the DL camera has a problem...), long story short, he knows my hobby with vintage shaving, and brought me this, explaining the he took it out of a building he inherited out in West Texas, that was built in 1929: it's a small storage cabinet for a brush, razor, and toothbrush (or another razor ), soap/cream, blades...on the front is a place where a mirror used (and in the future will again) be.
You obviously got some real good ones there! Never thought I would say this but I think I'll have to visit the local antique store!
I dont have pics but 5 TSD milk samples, 1 more TSD Splash and 2 more TSD colognes arrived in the mail yesterday and some were used with much success today.
I've been a little lax lately with my haul postings. Here's a group shot. Some The Shave Den creams, :drool . Upper right are some straight razor pins, hard to see but you can see them HERE. A Muhle R41 Open Comb, Thanks Magic! A Merkur open comb (thanks to Rick and Oscar/Rasco_MS who both gifted me) and a long handle Merkur. I purchased one from Shep/Eagle for my son-in-law, had to try it, kept it, :ashamed001, this one's for my son-in-law.
Hi All, Just a couple little things that are sure to be enjoyed over the months. I received my order from Paul recently, which consisted of two pucks (reorder) of DR Harris 'Marlborough' SS, and my first ever puck of MWF. All three of em ran me just under $40, which included shipping to the US from UK. Gotta be the best deal out there right now for those products. The DR Harris soap has such a great woodsy, understated scent to the stuff. Heh, Paul is a handy guy to know......... Also picked up a 5 CD boxed set of some WC Fields flicks. It was offered as a half price special on Amazon, so I was forced into the purchase.....heh. Main reason for buying the item is for my favorite movie with that guy.......it's called 'The Old Fashioned Way'. Some great goofy characters, and there's a juggling bonus near the end of the movie. I'll include this small clip, just for the heck of it. Yeah, Mr Fields started off as a juggler, and this is a rare clip of him and his partial routine, even though he's old at this point. Hehe, his nemesis (Baby LeRoy) is seen near the beginning. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5MZWq14uD-A
How thick/oily is the milk compared to the splash? I've been considering a milk, but I'm nervous as I don't do well with balms and I'm worried about over-moisturizing my oily skin.
milk is much thinner than balm but teeny tiny bit thicker than splashes. It is actually a lot like cow's milk. It absorbed quite well. she sells samples so you can always just try it out.
i got this: 1920s mens nightshirt. since ive been in pajamas for the most part lately, well, this thing is awesome.
