  11. Great shave and interesting read about the razor, thanks Joe

    Thanks Joe

    Thanks again Joe

    Great double shave Joe, no blood loss, Dumbo will be happy!

    Thanks Joe

    You are full of interesting facts Gary
    I haven't had a close look but do feel a number of my Gillettes have similar head/cap designs
    If their R&R team designed their razors for the average guy in the street, then my face/beard type certainly match their razor designs
    Thanks Gary

    Great setup, interesting collections of shaving bowls you have!

    Another great shave Barry, that soap sure looks Transparent!
  12. Thank you Chris...Both of the soaps are glycerine based. The Pears bar soap is what it says Transparent, well almost. The Pears soap makes a superb pre-shave application too.

    Prep and Preshave = hot water rinse x 3. T&H No 10 as preshave
    Soap = Chiseled face Cryogen
    Brush = Pura Setola
    Bowl = white plastic
    Razor = Rocket HD
    Blade = Vintage Gillette Super Stainless (7)!
    Passes = 2
    Post = Usual CWR, Alum, rinse, pat dry, Thayers rose petal, Nivea Balm
    ASL = Imperial Leather
    Scent = Guerlain Pour Homme
    Score = 9+ / 10
    Damage = none

    Another great shave, accompanied by mentholated tears, super chilly start to a warm day
    The Chiseled face soap was easy to lather up and super slick
    Interested that I am on day 7 of this blade and it seems fine, I haven’t managed that before

    Hope your Sundays are super great
  14. This was a "break-in" shave, as it was my first with a Boar brush. I didn't time the load, but I could see I didn't have to, as the brush did a nice job of scooping up the Razorock soap. In addition, it gave me a good paint job all over. I did pick up a Knick during the shave, but n0 other damage. I left a little Astroturf along the right sideburn area. I'll be sure to get that tomorrow. Two passes. Thankfully, I flushed out the Knick with the cold water rinse and Clubman A.S. Most Outstanding for today.

    Good afternoon.

    Shavette Shave # 589
    Parker SRS
    Gillette 7 o'clock Permasharp 1/2DE Blade (4)
    MrEE LE #10 Cashmere Brush
    PAA/King R Emporium SS
    Pinaud-Clubman Classic AS
    Stirling Alum Block
    Personal Care Witch Hazel
    Beard Growth: 29 hrs

    I went with my Parker Stainless Steel shavette for this afternoon's shave. Three passes gave a super smooth and comfortable shave. No mistakes were made in this session.
    I choose the PAA/ King R Emporium soap because the bottom of the container is exposed so I am trying to deep-six it. I may just use it more frequently within the next few weeks. It is a good soap that leathers easily and provides a slick medium for the razor to glide readily. Here's my lather:

    Had very little alum feedback. Finished the shave with the application of witch hazel and the Pinaud-Clubman Classic aftershave. Take care.
  18. Super Sunday shave Barry. Omega boar brushes are great. They are economical and perform well.
  19. Thanks Chris. The shaving bowl was such a great find at the Dollar Store. It cost under 2 dollars and it performs well. I can't complain.

  20. Fabulous Frigid shave Chris. I enjoyed Cryogen. Fortunately, my lacrimal glands are not affected. Congrats on getting 7 shaves on that blade. In my experience, some blades have a longer life than others. Also, your improved technique plays a part in getting more shaves on a blade.
