SE Shave # 424 - DECLARATION GROOMING MONDAY - After the Rain

    Rating: 5 / 5

    Razor: Ever-Ready 1912 SE
    Blade: GEM Stainless
Brush: Sawdust Creation Studio “Inferno” Silver Fox Synthetic
Lather: Declaration Grooming After the Rain
Aftershave: Declaration Grooming After the Rain
    Additional Care:
    Omega Alum
    Dickenson’s Original Witch Hazel
    Stirling Unscented Glacial Balm

Wonderful shave prior to this morning’s breakfast meet up with Joe, @Trigger. Three passes with the Ever Ready SE lead to a super smooth shave.

I opted for a different DG software. I felt this one was appropriate due to the weather we have had overnight. It is a great soap with a refreshing scent.

Hope you all have had a great day.

    December 16 SOTE Headshave

    Good evening.

    Rockwell 6C (plate 6)
    King C Gillette (fresh)
    Barbury Synthetic Brush
    PAA/King R Emporium SS
    Pinaud-Clubman Classic AS
    Stirling Alum Block
    Personal Care Witch Hazel
    Dome Turf: 4.25 Days

    20241216_214858.jpg

Yes, it was time for a headshave. I went with the 6C. I binned the Voskhod blade because it had 5 shaves on it and decided to go with a fresh blade to attack my heavy dome turf. I was rummaging through my den and found an open King C Gilette tuck that was part of my major piff from my 2 anonymous benefactors earlier this year. Tbh, I didn't know I had these blades. Anyway, I thought I be adventurous and try this blade,

I did three error-free passes plus minor touchups for a cueball smooth shave. I was shocked because it felt like I wasn't cutting any hair. This blade was deceptively sharp.
It looks like I may have 1 or possibly 2 more shaves with this soap before it is gone for good. It really was a good soap, but it's a shame because I am not a fan of PAA. Anyway, thanks Joe @JACarbone for piffing it to me.

Did get one sting from the alum and that was all. Finished with applying the witch hazel and the Pinaud-Clubman Classic aftershave. I have to say that I am impressed with the King C Gillette blade. Take care.

Nice Ever-Ready 1912 shave Joe. The E-R 1912 are my favourite vintage SE razors.

    Greetings,

    Early morning shave.

My shaving set up this morning was absolutely brilliant.. I repeat by saying, the vast majority of my shave set ups are very in-expensive. It just goes to show that you don't need expensive shaving items to get a good acceptable shave.

A close comfortable early morning cold water combined face & head shave.

Finishing the shave off with a few small dollops of Creightons Sensitive PSB.

My face & precious swede are feeling smooth & smelling divine.;)

Keep safe, and enjoy your day ladies & gentlemen.

    2 Days growth

Aristocrat, Omega boar, Feather (3), Stirling Bay Rum soap and ASL

    Usual post treatment

Alum told a story: really close and super smooth 3 passer on 2 days growth

As good as it gets, delightful, getting to know this little Aristocrat quite nicely. Kind of like the razor finds its own way around without too much thought

Hope you are well and enjoying your shaves

Very god shave this morning. A rough beginning turned into a positive ending. Clean&clear along the cheeks and sideburns. North Porcupine Alley, too. South wasn't as good, as a cut happened at mid-point. Course I don't blame the Stoylin, the cut was my baby. Cactus Nation(neck)was a good success. 2 passes. Thankfully, the cold-watedr rinse and A.S. helped neutralize the cut. I'm also thankful that the chin cut was my only damage. I need to work with these boar brushes more so as to make them ONE with my face and neck. Don't get me wrong-I'm glad to have them-but it will take time to break them in to my satisfaction. The shave? Super Duper Outstanding.

Well, it's been awhile since I shaved with Artie. Did 3 error-free passes that gave me a BBS result. I refreshed the blade so that it easily went through my 2 day stubble.
The soap us getting closer to extinction. However, it produced a great slick lather.
The alum gave me a few zing, but I expected it with an extremely close shave. I soothed my skin with the witch hazel and the Pinaud-Clubman Classic aftershave. I feel clean and refreshed. Take care.
