    Post:
    Cold Water Face & Head Rinse./Cold water face & head wash with brush squeezing's,/Alum Rub./Cold Water Rinse./Thayers Rose Petal Witch Hazel./Geoffrey Beene Grey Flannel ASL./ L'0REAL Soothing Birch Sap PSB

    (Face & Head Shave)

    A new eclectic shave set up to start the Weekend.

    Everything in my shave set up worked together superbly this morning. Both the Baili BD177 & Gillette Guard performed wonderfully. The Gillette guard on it's 5th outing still felt it could go on for another shave, but I'll retire it, as five head shaves from a single edge blade is amazingly good.

    Another close comfortable face & head shave with no errors to report.

    Finishing the shave off with a few small of L'0REAL Soothing Birch Sap PSB.

    My face & precious swede are feeling smooth and smelling divine.;)

    Stay safe, and enjoy the start of the weekend ladies & gentlemen.:cool:

    Soap = Sterling Christmas Eve
    Brush = Semogue
    Razor = Gillette Flare Tip
    Blade = Kai (4)
    Passes = 2 passes beard, single pass back of neck
    ASL = Whiskey Woods

    Outstanding combination Flare Tip and Kai (4)
    An easy fast no fuss have shave. It seems I have underestimated the humble Flare tip, it deserves more respect

    Have a super weekend one and all

    Great shave setup and report, Barry!

    The Yaqi brush looks like it has their equivalent of a Tuxedo synthetic knot in it. Striking handle.

    I have never heard of birch sap used as any kind of an ointment or balm before. Although I have heard birch bark tea is a pain reliever and has general healing properties.

    Great shave, Chris! And yes, the Gillette TTO Flare Tip, like the earlier 3-piece Tech, was a simple unobtrusive razor that was a very solid performer.

    Thanks Joe

    Super shave Joe, Despite your encouraging net reduction of soaps, I feel my own trend is still on the up...

    She has great taste, I agree the handle is fun to look at

    Cheeky Lol!

    Thanks Gary

    Great post, pic and write up. Looking forward to more. When I first stumble upon the TSD I spent many hours/days, heck weeks maybe going through many old posts, fascinating reads all of them

    Thank you John. Your right on the Yaqi 24mm Tuxedo synthetic knot. I also have a Yaqi 26mm "Rainbow Handle" Brown Synthetic.(Faux Horse) both are great brushes & knots. The L'0REAL Soothing Birch Sap PSB is a great post shave application, not sure if it's still in production, I still have a unopened tube which will keep me going for quite some time.

    Excellent shave and setup Barry. I agree that getting 5 headshaves on a blade is very good because the dome turf is much more coarser than the facial hwir.

    Well, the only thing different today from yesterday is the different shave arsenal. Same rssult. Shux. I added to the S.Porcupine trouble with yet another Knick. What a shame when I had a great shave everywhere else. I knew the Bill Neumann A.S. would help ease the problem(with its "skin-food" persuasion), but I created the problem in the first place. Again, I say, shux. Hope to do better "down there"(S. Porcupine)tomorrow, but as for the whole shave, I'll give it a Fairly Outstanding.

    Gary, thank you for giving me a"like" on this one.....I think when the New Year begins, it's time to pay serious attention to South Porcupine Alley.

    Dec 28 Head and Face Shave in the Afternoon

    Good afternoon.

    Mühle R102
    Suneko Amorphous Diamond DE Blade (5,6)
    MrEE Tuxedo Brush
    Seaforth Spice Lime SS and AS
    Stirling Alum Block Personal Care Witch Hazel Beard Growth: 41 hrs
    Dome Turf: 4 days

    It was time for a head and face shave. Once again, I reached for the Mühle R102. This razor really does a great job shaving the dome. 3 bloodless passes all around for a BBS result.

    What else can I say about Seaforth Sea Spice Lime that hasn't been already said? Here's my lather:

    The alum gave me a few zing on my neck, but it was silent everywhere else. Splashed on the witch hazel and the fine matching aftershave. I am very well pleased with this shave session. Take care.

    Random Stuff Shave

    Razor - Schick Krona
    Blade - treet-silver.jpg
    Soap - El Caballero (Oleo Soapworks)
    Brush - The Pony. Vie Long 12705
    Finish - Lilac Vegetal "The Mighty Veg"

    Saturday and time to just grab some random stuff. I found my Schick Krona razor, a very mild TTO that was designed to compete, quite unsuccessfully, with the Super Speed from Gillette. It's a solid razor, plastic handle, but as mild as they come. I reached into my loose blades and grabbed the first one I touched. Treet Silver. Awesome! This is a carbon blade from Pakistan. If memory serves it's a really nice blade, if you enjoy using carbon blades. Let's hope it hasn't gone south while in storage.
    I just grabbed the first non-Stirling soap I saw and came up with the El Caballero from Oleo soapworks. Popular several years ago, I can't seem to find their company anymore. I use a lot of synthetic brushes and miss the scritch of naturals. What better to get that feeling than a horsehair? The Pony came off the shelf.

    I love the tactile feel of shaving, and a carbon blade adds acoustics to that. The Pony was wonderfully scritchy and I lathered a bit longer than usual just to enjoy it. The Treet Silver was smooth, especially for a carbon. Clearly it's in mint condition. The sound of a carbon blade working is amazing. Love to hear them sing as they do their work. Two passes and some touch up. Very nice finish. Definitely good enough for a lazy Saturday.

    To finish it off I grabbed my bottle of the Veg. Love this classic after shave and it provided just enough sting to bring a smilel to my face. Scritchy brush, singing carbon blade, slight burn in the finish. That's about as good as it gets in my world!

    Hope you're enjoying the final weekend of 2024!
