Well, it certainly looks old! Great that you've got the booklets with it. Are you going to make it shave ready?

My understanding is that the plain cases are the very early examples, the same shape case with dimpled finish are the slightly later 'Popular' and 'Standard' razors

Do not know yet. I shaved with a popular model.

The first model is structurally different from the subsequent ones. The lids are opened from one side. And there were no buttons yet.

Also the blade has no mention of anything.

Cool, but I hope they had one blade each in stead of one in total for 30 men. I'd hate to be the last in line... ;)

Hello. Does it make sense to get involved with a set that has such a blade and such a handle? Thank`s.

Of course there is. This handle secures the blade.
It unscrews, the blade is inserted. And you screw it in. There is a spring inside. Which secures the blade.

Looks to be a complete Viscount model, if you follow the instructions on how to refurbish the razor which are in this thread, then you should be rewarded with a very useable razor, I've been using one for the past few years with no problems as my daily razor,

Thanks for the answers. I was confused by the fact that the blade is polished and there are no engravings on it.

I didn't pay attention to the blade. It's not polished. It's sanded.
It all depends on the price. If it's $5, you can take it.
The blade is no longer original.

I am considering two sets. One in almost perfect condition even with a packed blade, but without a package of documents (it is sold for $19), and the second with documents but with such a blade (for $14). I am thinking, maybe buy them, make one complete set and put it aside for my growing son. And put the second one in order according to the scheme from this thread and use it. But the blade is alarming. I don’t really want to just buy a package of documents for $14. Unfortunately, I did not find such a package of documents on sale.

In England, a lot of them are sold on eBay.
    You can choose any configuration.
You can go to the English eBay and look there.
I often go to eBay in different countries. And I look at my razor collection.

Would you get involved with such a blade? Tell me Please, have you ever seen the model Viscount in blue velvet boxes or was there only Imperial№2?

I try to buy sets with original blades.
I don't like these razors very much. But not as a razor, but as a technical solution.
Everything is fine. But the sharpening occurs on a small area of skin. And with constant use, the skin is slightly worn. Which in the future, worsens the sharpening.
The blades in this razor are wonderful.
I solved this problem differently. I made devices for sharpening these blades on a strop.
Below I will send a video. It is not in English. But I hope the solution itself will be clear.
    After that, shaving became excellent.

I have not seen Viscount in velvet boxes.

    My English is bad.
If someone wants, they can re-voice this video into English and post it here. Or on their channel.
I just ask you to indicate the original source.
This may be interesting to many fans of these razors.
