    There is definitely a direct relation between the amount of hydration and lather slickness.

    Thanks Joe, must have a close shave to get those weepers. No, I have not yet had the distinction of delayed weepers! These appeared during the shave, mea culpa

    Thanks Joe

    2 Days growth, yesterday was a scruffy day

    Usual Prep and Preshave = T&H No 10
    Cream/Soap = Wilkinson shave stick again, this works a real treat. I got 2nd hand from a guy near me getting rid of some of his stuff and he certainly talked it up, to i took another two. Have to say he knew what he was talking about!
    Brush = Semogue OC cherry Finest Badger. I like the way this holds on the lather for the later passes. Somehow I don't think a smaller boar brush would do the same.
    Bowl = face lathering
    Razor = Gillette Popular,1939 No46, op shop AUD 6.00 find, still one of my favourites even though it looks a bit rough
    Blade = Astra Superior Platinum (1) never had a problem with these
    Passes = 2 +
    Post = Usual CWR, Alum, rinse, pat dry, Thayers rose petal
    ASL = fine latigo
    Scent = English Leather Cologne splash
    Score = 9+ / 10
    Damage = none today

    Nice OC shave with this Popular and a fresh Astra blade. Superb smoothness. Initial lather was a bit thick but I like it that way to start off with when using an OC. It kind of fills the slots between the comb and keeps more lather on the face. Wetter and thinner for the 2nd and buffing passes, of course these are done more gently

    Superb start to my Tuesday, hoping your shaves are as good or better

    NCoxSTL AAACK!

    We ended up with nearly a foot of snow here. Now, having lived in North Dakota, I dealt with it ok. But watching my neighbors trying to clear driveways etc. was a bit entertaining.

    Fine shave this morning. One nick(down at Cactus Nation)cost me a top-rated grade. Shux. A minute at the Loading Dock helped produce a nice amount of the Ike shave soap onto the Maggard brush. Great shave all around except for the issue at Cactus. 2 passes. I found a way to shake more of the Ike A.S. out. A lady reviewing Ike said she didn't understand why it wasn't credited to JFK, given the Eight and Bob feature. Thus she sgrees with me!! (Course she may have made that comment long before I knew anything about Strike Gold Shave Co., but I won't mention that). Also I saw where Strike Gold shave was listed as he best shave peoduct for men's skin. The source for that listed from 10-1 and not only was it NOT listed as the best shave soap for men's skin, but it wasn't listed AT ALL. Internet, what can I say? But I'd like to follow the source of why they said it was #1. Anyway, Super Duper Outstanding for the shave.

    Good afternoon.

    Shavette Shave #599
    Parker SRB
    Suneko Amorphous Diamond 1/2 DE Blade (fresh)
    MrEE LE #10 Cashmere Brush
    Captain's Choice North SS and AS
    Stirling Alum Block
    Personal Care Witch Hazel
    Beard Growth: 49.5 hrs

    20250107_114357.jpg

    I only needed 2 passes plus a slight right neck pickup because a fresh Suneko blade is ultra sharp. Did get a tiny weep on my right cheek and a small nick on my left side of my nick. The cold water took care of it without any alum assistance.
    Face-lathered the soap to a nice creamy consistency that gave me an awesome slick lather. I did get some nice alum feedback. Finished with the witch hazel and aftershave treatment. Take care.

    Fabulous shave on another chilly morning here on LI. Joe, @Trigger, is loving it so much that he still does not leave the house with a hat for his Uncle Festerism. :Animatedfrozensmily: :eatdrink047:

    The Wholly Kaw King of Oud has now received the JAC designation for the next to have a meet up with the Edmund Fitzgerald. I am just contemplating how I might proceed.

    1. I thought of just using it as a”One Soap Tuesday-Friday”
    2. Another option would be to pick another soap that has less than 100 grams left in a tub to alternate with the K o O on the aforementioned weekdays. Once the K o O meets it demise, designated another soap to put in the rotation. I may be tempted to see how long I can go I. This fashion. The challenge will be that I will limit my experience with some quality product in the den.
    3. Final option, just proceed as usual.
