Great Sunday/Monday shaves, gents!

I have given up shaving for the moment. We are in the deep freeze here with temperatures ranging from -25 to -40 C with wind on top of that (at -40, the Celsius and Fahrenheit scales match). I find even a short beard helps quite a bit.

@brit and I made a pact awhile back to shave with our New Deluxe razors together, so today we fulfill that pact. Saw his beauty a few posts back, and it's a great looking razor. The best part is these are awesome razors to shave with as well. Kind of like getting the prettiest girl to marry you and finding out she's the best cook in the world too, eh?

Sharp Star blade on its second shave and it's as smooth and sharp as shave number one. The Jeeves Bay Rum and JR#456 were flawless, and three passes of slow enjoyment followed, with a perfect finish at the end. Bay Rum splash to end it and I'm ready to head back to work tonight. I've been on vacation and then a two week shutdown so the past month has been fun. Start up is at 10:30 tonight and I'm the boss so I can't even call in sick. Oh well, at least I'll smell good for the start up meeting.

It's cold in the Lou. But there's a reason for it. It's called Winter! Have a great night!

Bowl: Ikea Kalas Side Bowl.
Lather: Cussons Imperial Leather Bar Soap + Proraso Eucalyptus & Menthol Shaving Soap.
Blade: Amazon Solimo. (D3)
Razor: Baili BD191.
Razor: Gillette Guard. (Head) (D3)

Post:
Cold Water Face & Head Rinse./Cold water face & head wash with brush squeezing's,/Alum Rub./Cold Water Rinse./Homemade (~Autumn/Winter mix~) peppermint lavender, eucalyptus, + Tea Tree essential Oils Mixed Together With Care+Witch Hazel./Brut Splash-On Lotion./Nivea Men Replenishing PSB.

Early morning face & head shave.

The Baili BD191 /Amazon Solimo blade was a wonderful mild yet smooth efficient duo mowing through my face stubble with effortless ease.

I'm really impressed with the longevity of the Amazon Solimo blades.

Finishing the shave off a with a few small dollops of Nivea Men Replenishing PSB.

My face & precious swede are feeling smooth & smelling divine.

2 Days growth

Cold water Prep: it’s 40C plus outside, tap water is warm enough
Preshave = T&H No
Soap = The Body Shop Maca Root & Aloe: fine lather
Brush = Evo synthetic
Bowl = white plastic
Razor = Rocket HD
Blade = Gillette Platinum Day 1
Passes = 2 only were needed for DFS and BBS
Post = Usual CWR, Alum, Thayers rose petal, Nivea Balm
ASL = Imperial Leather
Scent = Santal spirit Sandalwood
Score = 9+/ 10

Lovely lather from the Maca Root. I applied it fairly thick and then slowly thinned it out on the face until nearly dripping. Superb
Getting back to basics. Striclty using strokes parallel to the long axis of the handle. With a fresh blade very little gillette slide is needed, except for the swirly bits.
I think I will try this with my OCs again soon. too much of an oblique stroke angle might be the cause of my problem with the RFB and the Goodwill set. Time will tell
