I've rotated around to morning shaves which are actually evening shaves for me. Working 3rd shift definitely makes life interesting in trying to determine what's morning, evening, and everything in between. I started off the new routine with a great Gillette razor, the 1959 Tech. I don't think there's ever been a more successful, yet simple, design in a razor. When you go back through the history of Gillette razors the simple three-piece razor was always a workhorse. While the early versions were aggressive beasts, the Tech became a milder version of the same design that simply does what it's supposed to do.
I paired the razor with the Rapira Super Stainless in the pink blue and black wrapper. This was always the least expensive of the Rapira line of blades, but it is definitely not lacking in performance. I was pleasantly surprised the first time I used these blades and have over 100 of them in my private stock of Russians. They are a no-frills option when choosing a Russian for a few shaves.
I went back to the Stirling 2018 Fair Debonaire soap I received in St. Louis at the 2018 Fair Debonaire. I love, love, love this soap and it's aftershave, and the best part is you can still get it. It's called Haverford and I just bought a full puck and A/S to go with it. Fantastic lather and scent, and the Stirling Synthetic whipped it up nicely.
Three passes, fantastic relaxing shave and I'll be off to dreamland soon still inhaling that wonderful vanilla and tobacco flower scent. Mmmmm, Mmmmmm, good! Enjoy your Monday!
