Thursday, February 13 ETHOS Dragonsbeard~~Simpson CH2 Synthetic Badger~~Cobra Classic/Schick Proline~~Frederic Malle The Night I know, I know. Primo...you're not following the rules of this thread. No, I am not and, well... I'll get to another 3017 in due course. Meanwhile, Primo be likin' the variety.
Weekly catch up in one shot. The steel for the week featured a couple of Rocnel-G shaves, a smiling Ali's Blade and a big Wacker Huntsman. A pair of Varlets, a Rudy Vey and Simpson Duke made some serious damage on the C&S, it did not make the pic as it was embarrased by the big hole in the middle of the puck. Some serious stanks were selected, Aqua Colonia Beau d' Espana, Hard Leather, Belanciaga and Amber Russie. TGIF! I yeah I forgot I am retired and everyday is Saturday.
It is Saturday and the weekend is time for soap variety. I really enjoy this tub of Steam Punk, sadly I can't find a new one. My big Dovo 8/8 delivered a wonderful shave followed with a generous dose of stank.
Saturday, February 15 ETHOS Succés~~Kent BK8~~Wolfman WR1/Personna 74~~Creed Aventus Reached for the BK8 to sync with @Keithmax and his love of big brushes. I toyed with the idea of trying to acquiring a BLK12, but came to my senses. Outstanding shave with the ETHOS and finished with one of Creed's most popular stanks.
Sunday variety, since we do not have even one Piggly Wiggly in Korea I went nastalgic with Tabac and Clubman. I am curious how this will go with kimchi
Sunday, February 16 Yardley~~Rooney~~'36 Gillette Aristocrat/Personna 74~~Amouage Opus XIV Royal Tobacco No Kent size 12, but the Rooney beehive got the job done. Were it not for the TTO mechanism, the '36 Gillette would be my desert Island razor. Don't misunderstand, it works GREAT, but all of the sand and salt water...see where I am going?
Monday, February 17 Macduff's Prairie Blooms~~Wald S1~~Leresche #51/Personna 74~~Louis Vuitton Pur Oud Dr. Mrs. Primo took one whiff of me and said: "You smell like cotton candy". I'll take it...
Back to work on the C&S, I am trageting to finish it in April but I don't think it will happen. It had a big hole in the middle which I tried cover up but just made a mess. Small and large shaving theme. I usually prefer larger straights but the two 6/8 are heavy enough, the both take excellent edges and they have torq pins instead of traditional pins which allows me to make them nice and tight. The DE is a Janus toggle, a stainless steel version of the famed Gillette toggle. I like this better than the Gillette toggle. I don't know this razor did not get more love from the fickle shaving community. A big Kent BK12 in the back next to my smallest brush (but finest knot) Culmack 55. In between in size is a Zenith Boar. Some serious projecting stanks, I was feeling obnoxious so they fit my mood.
Hello guys. I apologize for not keeping up with my posting. I have a lot of stuff going on with my mom and such. Honestly I am lucky if I shave 2-3 times a week now. I did manage to finish the Santa Maria Novella Crema da Barba. I have moved onto a tub of Fine Italian Citrus soap in their new formula. I will try to check in more frequently. Take care.
