Menthol Monday’s Grand Freeze: Quick shower Yaqi 30mm Barber Pole Super Speed/Wilkinson day 13 Stirling Glacial Citron SS Bundubeard Stoffel ASB Stirling Glacial Citron AS Splash Christian Dior Eau Sauvage EdT This setup…….oh my goodness……it’s so frigid - if you can’t handle intense menthol then stay away from it and leave it for me. The scent of this Glacial Citron is so beautiful - lemon, lime, and a little grapefruit all come together to make it so refreshing. The soap is a tallow based lather monster with such awesome slickness, the menthol sensation hits like a ton of bitterly cold bricks, and the postshave feeling is wonderful. The Stoffel balm is also a bona fide face freezer with a very nice peppermint scent, and it gives lots of soothing as well as moisturizing. The Glacial Citron aftershave seems to pair so well with the Eau Sauvage fragrance. Three passes did me proud - such a terrific BBS shave despite the blade getting duller. Menthol Monday’s Grand Freeze: Quick shower Yaqi 30mm Barber Pole Super Speed/Wilkinson day 13 MSC Citrus Melody SS Bundubeard Stoffel ASB MSC Citrus Melody AS Splash Christian Dior Eau Sauvage EdT This Wilkinson blade is getting kinda dull but it’s still performing well enough in spite of my hard beard stubble. The Citrus Melody soap smells so beautiful, its tallow formula is so similar to Stirling’s so it gives awesome lather with plenty of slickness, it freezes like a Glacial soap, and it’s so skin friendly. The Stoffel balm soothes and moisturizes so well not to mention how frigid it is, and the Citrus Melody aftershave went on with a monstrous menthol kick. Finally the delightful Eau Sauvage fragrance and I’m good to go. Three passes gave me a helluva nice BBS shave that I enjoyed immensely! Wishing you all a great week - be well and stay safe! Quick shower Yaqi 30mm Barber Pole Super Speed/Wilkinson day 6 MSC Citrus Melody SS* Bundubeard Stoffel ASB MSC Citrus Melody AS Splash Christian Dior Eau Sauvage EdT *This Citrus Melody soap is a different version from the original one because it’s literally FIVE times more mentholated. The scent is the same - it’s beautiful, it takes a bit more work to get it going but it still gives great lather with awesome lather with tremendous slickness, the menthol sensation is totally insane, and it gives wonderful postshave care that the Stoffel balm enhances. The Citrus Melody aftershave is totally frigid and it smells so delightful - it’s a very good match for the Eau Sauvage fragrance. The Glacial Black Cherry is a lethally mentholated soap with a great scent, it’s chock full of awesome lather that’s so slick, and it gives wonderful skincare like ALL of Rod’s soaps. The Stoffel balm is also plenty frigid as well as very soothing and moisturizing while the Northern Elixir aftershave is another menthol atom bomb with a nice peppermint scent. Finally the lovely Obsession fragrance and I’m ready to enjoy another day of retirement. Not much to do today because it’s snowing like crazy. Menthol Monday’s Atomic Grand Freeze: Long hot shower Yaqi 30mm Barber Pole Super Speed/Wilkinson day 6 Stirling Glacial Mango Sunrise SS Bundubeard Stoffel ASB Axe Oil (extremely mentholated) My face is going to need all day to thaw out after this intense menthol bombardment - the Glacial Mango Sunrise soap not only has a beautiful scent and lathers superbly it freezes the living crap out of you. The Stoffel balm is also killer cold, and the Axe oil is actually meant to be used for sore joints but it has a delightful exotic scent and the menthol sensation from it is absolutely off the charts - just a small dab on both cheeks and another one on the neck is sufficient. The Glacial Spearmint soap and balm did a helluva number on me this morning - the beautiful scent filled the bathroom while I was lathering up and shaving, the menthol sensation was killer cold, and the postshave feeling was wonderful. The Frosted Spearmint aftershave has the identical lovely scent as Rod’s stuff and the menthol kick is insane. Another awesome three pass BBS shave that was such a pleasure! Menthol Monday’s Nuclear Grand Freeze: Hot shower Yaqi 30mm Barber Pole Goodfella/new Wilkinson Stirling Glacial Iceberg Island SS Bundubeard Stoffel ASB Stirling Glacial Iceberg Island AS Splash This Goodfella is a really good fella indeed - although it’s such a mild razor it performs so well. The Glacial Iceberg Island soap and aftershave have a MAGNIFICENT scent that’s an exact copy of the Virgin Island Water fragrance from Creed - the soap’s lather is wonderful, it’s so easy to work up, there’s so much slickness, it’s killer cold like all the Glacials, the postshave feeling is so comfortable - typical Stirling perfection. The Stoffel balm is another Bundubeard treasure - thanks so much to my dear brother Jaco for creating it - it’s loaded with menthol and it’s so gentle on my skin. Finally the Glacial Iceberg Island aftershave froze my face to the max and its delightful scent lasts just about all day. Menthol Monday’s Siberian Grand Freeze: Hot shower Yaqi 30mm Barber Pole Goodfella/Wilkinson day 8 Captain Nemo Absolute Zero SS Bundubeard Stoffel ASB Captain Nemo Absolute Zero AS Toner Davidoff Cool Water EdT Never in my life would I imagine that there’s stuff colder than the Stirling Glacial or the Chiseled Face Cryogen soaps and aftershaves but the Absolute Zero stuff passed them in terms of menthol power. The soap is vegan based with such a nice aquatic/minty scent, the lather is awesome, it gives tons of slickness, the menthol sensation is so intense that it feels borderline painful, but it leaves my skin feeling so comfortable. The Stoffel balm is also plenty frigid not to mention how soothing it is, and the Absolute Zero toner freezes the smithereens out of you but it gives great skincare. Finally the Cool Water fragrance which seems to pair well with the Absolute Zero stuff and I’m ready to enjoy another day of retirement.
