    Good morning.

    Shavette Shave #608
    Parker SRB
Suneko Amorphous Diamond. 1/2 DE (3)
    L'Occitane Plisson Synthetic Brush
    TSD Barbershoppe SS and AS
    Stirling Alum Block
    Beard Growth: 2 days

My last shavette shave was with this razor over a week ago and decided to go with it again. Three error-free passes gave me a BBS shave. The Suneko blade is very sharp, but smooth. Still trying to kill this soap and probably will last into late March. However, it does provide a nice slick lather so I am OK with it. Had some alum feedback in my usual areas. Splashed on the matching aftershave and I am good to go. Take care.

Thank you Gary.....I wonder why the Proraso Foam had trouble coming out at first. That's never been the case with Gillette, my first Rise order, and Barbasol.

Does the design on the soap cover give a hint, that it is best used with that kind of razor? I'd love to try that(te soap, that is).

Thanks, John! My son, Ben, is actually the one who got me into straight shaving. He, unlike me is not bald, and straight shaves regularly. He’s a grandfather himself, and has an awe-inspiring Japanese straight razor collection. When he returned my razors to me he winked, and said, they’ll be coming back to him eventually. He is right, after all! Enjoy your shaves!

    FRIDAY SOTD
    February 28, 2025

Kind of a rough shave this morning. I remembered why the shavers and safety razor were stored in a drawer. The shavers was a rough shave for both head and dome. Polished off the rough, bristly spots with my Colonial Silversmith housing a fresh Kai blade. This is not a working tool for me anymore. Getting ready for the Vermont trip tomorrow. My southern belle has a thing for snow! We’re heading north in her Tesla! Should be an interesting trip. I’m bringing my Colonial Silversmith, a tuck of fresh Kai blades, a Jayaruh Synthetic and Kapo Shave Cream. Don’t know how frequently I’ll be posting.

RAZOR: Durham Duplex Shavette (Mug), Durham Duplex Safety Razor DE (Dome)
BLADE: Ever Ready Hair Trimmer [UK](Dome)
PREP: Cold water rinse followed by a heavy scrub with Argan Oil
BRUSH: JT Sapele/Resin Handled Omega Pro48 Boar Knot
    SOAP: Mitchell’s Wool Fat
POSTSHAVE: Cold water wash with brush squeezings followed by a rinse with Humphreys Lilac WH. Finished with Unscented Stirling Glacial Ice.

    Rating: 5 / 5

    Razor: Puma 65
Brush: Sawdust Creation Studio Old Cahaba
    Lather: Mitchell’s Wool Fat
    Aftershave: Hub City Pipe Dreams
    Additional Care:
    Omega Alum
    Dickenson’s Original Witch Hazel
    Stirling Unscented Glacial Balm

I have not use the Fat often over the past couple of years. However, with all the talk about the Fat and its lather ability I figured it was time it joined the party. I did not have any issues with developing a nice lather.

plenty of soap for a three pass shave with the Puma 65 straight. Another smooth and close shave. The other aspects of using the Fst is that I have the option of using any splash I. My den.

Hope you all had a great day.
