    Sunday afternoon 2/03/25

Razor : YinTal YT-TRD (Bronze alloy China)
Blade : Voskhod Teflon coated. (1)
Brush : Yaqi caramel cat's whiskers synthetic.
    Soap : Arko stick
Aftershave : Lucky Tiger Bay Rum
Razor weight : 103 grams. (originally 112 grams but the handle was unbalanced so I cut of 10mm)
    Hi all,
Just a quick clean up so I can take the wife out to a local Thai restaurant (I normally shave every 2nd day).
The YinTal was a gift ( available on AliExpress) It gave me an ok shave but this was 24 hours growth only.
This is my 2nd shave with the razor the 1st one I used the "Original cube pre shave soap" witch combined
with the shave soap gummed up the razor and buggered up the shave.

    Going with a budget theme.
    I used the Arko stick.
It lathers up well in the bowl and worked well even though the scent is questionable.
I drowned that in Lucky tiger bay rum.
    Cheers.

Sunday March 2 (very early morning) - Mapless March

Prep: Hot shower with Aleppo olive oil soap w/ 20% bay laurel oil (traditional anti-acne)

Razor: Matte black stainless steel Supply 2.0 injector with "nick-proof" SE comb plate / Personna blade (5)

    Soap: Arko stick

Brush: Jayaruh #267 burled maple with Omega Pro 49 tall boar knot

    Lather Bowl: None

Post: rinse, alum, rinse, TSD Vanilla Aftershave Milk

Last shave: Tuesday February 25 (evening) - 4.5 days ago

    Today's setup:

    IMG_20250302_043654.jpg

For my first shave in March, I paired the fine industrial lemon scent of Arko with the TSD vanilla-scented splash. I face lathered the Arko shaving stick using a brush with a maple handle. And shaved using my modern matte-black injector razor. The result was a surprisngly pleasant shave.

The usual two passes - WTG and then XTG removed the stubble on my cheeks and neck, leaving me cleanshaven around my mustache and goatee. Alum was silent.

I still don't know what I am doing during March - other than shaving. But I seem to be off to a good start nonetheless.

Hope you have all enjoyed your weekends so far and have a restful Sunday followed by an excellent week!

Thanks, Chris. It's a bird's-eye maple with burling. Lovely figuring in the wood grain. I considered myself very lucky to get that one from Jayaruh.

And the knot was from a NIB Omega 49 Pro boar brush. That model was a quite cheap boar brush with a superb long stiff knot in a chintzy cruddy plastic handle. Jim would buy the new Omega brushes, break the plastic handles apart to rob the knots, and then put the knots in wooden handles worthy of them.
