    Thank you Joe. The Voshkod T C blade work well with my Parker DE razors. They ain't the sharpest of blades, but they are smooth. I like them and find PTFE /Teflon coated blades which is the vast majority of modern DE blades are some of my favourites. One thing I have noticed with the Voshkod is they perform & feel smoother after the first pass. I still have 80 blades left to get through, along with quite a number of other Russian made DE blades.

    Mitchell’s Match-up and Mix up
    Time to compare the Mitchell’s Wool Fat against some of my other soaps croaps and cream

    1 Days growth

    Hot Water Prep and Preshave = Proraso Wood and spice
    Cream/Soap = Dr Harris Sandalwood
    Brush = Semogue Owners Club Cherry
    Bowl = White
    Razor = Gillette 1958 "TV" Special date code D3
    Blade = Wilkinson Sword Chinese (1)
    Passes = 3 passes were needed
    Post = Usual CWR, Alum, rinse, pat dry, Thayer’s rose petal, Nivea Balm
    ASL = Imperial leather
    Scent = Santal Spirit Sandalwood EdT
    Score = 9+ / 10
    Damage = none

    Good start to a Monday
    The PR pre-shave did not do as good a job at prepping the stubble as the T&H No 10
    The Dr Harris is similar in performance to the MWF, not as good, in my hands as the Stirling

    The Chinese Wilkinson sword blade felt a bit rough and for its diligence was promptly rewarded by promotion to the esteemed position of the One Blade bin. I have too many of these to try and tease out an extra day or two

    Have a great Monday

    March Madness

    Razor - Soviet "Ideal" (9)
    Blade - astra-superior-platinum.jpg (2)
    Soap - Stirling Glastonbury
    Brush - 2019 30DC Meetup Custom Synthetic

    Another day with the Soviet "Ideal". I'm using it wide open at setting 9, and it's quite a bit more aggressive than the Gillette Super Adjustable it's trying to copy. I checked the blade for ripples and it seemed straight on both sides. Nothing to do but to get down to it. The Astra SP is a good choice when playing with razors that may have some quirks. The Stirling soap is of course thick and slick and the 30DC brush is great to have in hand. Lots of lather for two full passes. A bit scary around the neck as I felt a lot of blade exposure and got the angle slightly wrong for a bit. Recovered nicely and without blood, though I can feel a bit of irritation. Oh well, what's March Madness without some irritation, eh?

    Finished with a very fine result and it's always fun to use the Russians. Ready to jump in my coffin and sleep the day away. Enjoy your Monday!

    Shield Titanium razor with stainless steel dual comb plate.
    Astra SP blade.
    Razorock 400 Plissoft synthetic brush.
    Fine Accoutrements L'Orange Noir shave soap.
    Timeless Razor shave bowl.
    Vector Shirley May Deluxe Eau de Toilette spray.

    First shave of the month. I was lazy this weekend so I had to remove some growth this morning. The open comb completed the first pass with no problem. The final two passes were smooth sailing with the solid bar.

    Excellent Monday shave!
