Very nice A B M and TI shave this morning. The synthetic brush whipped up a nice slick lather. The lather was not very thick, but the slickness provided an excellent cushion for the blade to do its work. I did my customary three passes without incident.

I am rapidly approaching my 1500th open blade shave, straights and shavette. Today’s shave was number 1498. Not too shabby if I say so myself.

March Madness

One more day on the Consul. Like the Ideal versus the Super Adjustable, I think a comparison shave between the Consul and Slim is in the cards for the not too distant future. I really got a good smooth shave today with little irritation. I can tell how aggressive it is when wide open. My curiosity is peaking about the difference in shaves that might be detectable. Anyway, that's just my usual pattern of looking for any and all advantages to particular razors when I know perfectly well that technique is really the key.

I pulled out the Moon Old School and was reminded of how easily it lathers and how good the lather really is. I checked their website and found they are still around, and have a few soaps I wouldn't mind trying. Yeah. Just what I need. More soap. Trying to ignore the website. Trying hard.

As always it's a treat to use a JR brush and the 456 is truly great. Two passes, little touch up, I look great, feel great and am about to get a great day's sleep. Enjoy the day!
