    Greetings,

    The humble inexpensive cream Arco shave cream always provides a adequate lather in a short space of time, this morning was no exception.

    Another enjoyable close face and head shave with no errors to report. Finishing the shave off with a few small dollops of Arko Cool ASB.

    The Fresh Personna Injector PTFE blade mowed through my head stubble with effortless ease.

    My face & precious swede are feeling smooth & smelling divine.;)

    Keep safe, and enjoy your day ladies & gentlemen.:cool:

    Monday March 17 (just before end of day at midnight) - Mapless March

    Prep: Hot shower with Aleppo olive oil soap w/ 20% bay laurel oil (traditional anti-acne)

    Razor: Matte black stainless steel Supply 2.0 injector with "nick-proof" SE comb plate / Personna blade (6)

    Soap: JM Fraser's shave cream

    Brush: Semogue SOC cherrywood refitted with APShaveCo Tuxedo synthetic knot

    Lather Bowl: None

    Post: rinse, alum, rinse, Thayers unscented alcohol-free Witch Hazel spritz

    Last shave: Sunday March 2 (morning) - 15 days ago

    Temperatures here are now hovering just above or below freezing, depending on the day. Time to consider getting rid of my winter beard again. But for today, I left the mustache and goatee intact and just shaved the beard-like stubble on my cheeks and neck.

    The JM Fraser's shave cream (croap) gave me a reliable lather as usual. Which the SOC Tuxedo did an excellent job of face lathering - also as usual. I did two passes everywhere - WTG and XTG on my face, then WTG and ATG on my neck. I had to take the razor apart after every few strokes to clear out the clogging heavy stubble, but other than that, seemed to have no problems. Alum was silent.

    However, when I checked the mirror afterwards, I had a large patch of missed stubble on the right side of my neck partially hidden by my pointy goatee. That was the main reason I used the witch hazel spritzer tonight -- I used it to lubricate my neck before doing another ATG "touchup" pass to clean the area.

    Hope everyone had a good St. Patrick's Day if they are Irish ... or even if they aren't...

    Btw, I just stumbled and fell: one of the Canadian shave supply dealers was having a St. Patrick's Day sale and I succumbed to the lure of a new DE razor - a Henson Medium. I had had a Henson Mild version in the past and quite liked it but then sold it during a fit of "den clearing" a few years ago (along with my Karve Christopher Bradley, Rockwell 6S and T1, refurbished Gillette adjustables, Simpson badger brushes and several other items). Looking forward to this one...

    Mitchell’s Match-up and Mix up
    Time to compare the Mitchell’s Wool Fat against some of my other soaps croaps and cream

    1 Days growth

    Hot Water Prep and Preshave = Palmolive Lather as preshave
    Soap = MWF
    Brush = Omega 10049
    Bowl = face lathering
    Razor = Muhle R41 open comb Grande
    Blade = Henckels day 4: blunting and dragging
    Passes = 2 +
    Post = Usual CWR, Alum, rinse, pat dry, Thayer’s rose petal, TOBS royal forest
    ASL = Clubman Pinaud
    Scent = TBS black musk EdP
    Score = 9 / 10
    Damage = no damage

    Few more strokes needed per area due to blade dulling. Overall good shave with this razor, nice and heavy

    Nice to mix up the hardware and software to keep me on my toes

    Have a great day everyone

    Tuesday Morning 18/03/25

    Razor Head : Green Cult SS 1.0 (Austria).
    Handle : RazoRock Halo TI.
    Blade : Voskhod Stainless PTFE (1).
    Brush : Yaqi Mocha (Matcha) synthetic.
    Soap : RazoRock Puros.
    Aftershave : Razozero Protettivo.
    Razor weight : 92 grams.
    Hi all,
    I had a brilliant shave this morning with the Green Cult SS 1.0. (first shave)
    When I got this razor the pervious owner shorted the handle by quite a bit after looking at pics of it online.
    It didn't feel good in my hand the RazoRock handle is perfect in my opinion for weight and balance.
    I agree entirely with Errol review on the Green Cult 1.0 (check it out On Paste&Cut its a great read).
    The razor easily sliced through five days growth and straight away I realized it must be respected.
    I would not recommend this razor if you prefer razors on the mild side because it can bite.
    It gave me a small weeper below my lip and a small nick on my Adams apple.

    The RazoRock Puros works well its scent of fresh cut tobacco and leather is very nice. ( And I'm not a smoker)

    One pass WTG and just a touch up pass ATG done. (ATG pass hardly needed)
    Cheers.

    I don't miss any of the brushes. Or the modern brass or stainless steel razors. I have lots more razors even if the remaining ones are not as fancy.

    What I do miss a bit is my matched set of refurbished and refinished Gillette adjustables. I had a FatBoy, a Slim and a SuperAdjustable that Delta Echo Razors had refurbished for me and then cerakoted in a matching scheme of black with red trim. I am not a big fan of the Gillette Slim model (which never feels quite right to me) but really like both the FatBoy and SuperAdjustable.

    In my "Den Clearing" phase, I offered the set for sale either as a set or separately. The FatBoy and Slim were both snapped up by different people, breaking up the set anyway. The SuperAdjustable didn't sell immediately, so I decided to keep it (it's in the photo below). And then shortly after that, Delta Echo Razors went out of business.

    I still have a decent but not mint FatBoy in a decent but not mint case that I use on occasion. The Cerakote really slicked up the mechanism on my other one though - it almost acts like a permanent lubricant - and the unrefurbished one is just not the same.

    March 18 SOTA

    Good afternoon.

    Straight Razor Shave #605
    Henckels Friodur
    JR #290 Cashmere Brush
    TSD Barbershoppe SS and AS
    Stirling Alum Block
    Beard Growth: 48 hrs

    20250318_154748.jpg

    Did an error-free 2 pass smooth and comfortable shave. Alum feedback was silent. It seems this soap may only have a few more shaves before it's gone. Splashed on the matching aftershave to finish this session. Take care.
