    Red tip to the rescue! Great looking shave

    Great "eternal flame of lanolin goodness" shave Lol!
    Cool. The Kent is just MWF under another name, right?

    Getting to like the razor. When I first tried it it was too heavy and "aggresive" or maybe my hand was too aggressive.
    Got to go really light with this. Great machine finish. Mechanically sound. Heavy! Good knurling on the handle. Don't think I will need more than setting No 2 at this stage anyway.
    The head is a bit bulky, like the Progress, but still easy to get around the nose when going across the grain so no problem there

    Very nice shave and cool new toy, sorry I mean tool!
    I admire the restraint: you will wait till April!
    Keen to hear how you like this one

    Nice shave. I find plating faults don't really matter if the lather is good. Some of my vintage razors are better not looked at too closely but they still work well

    Thanks Joe

    Super Schick shave Joe: decent alum feedback means you got a close shave!

    Nice posts and pics Joe.

    Thanks Joe, beginning to get used to it. It demands some focus, but is well made. Nice to try one of the newer rather than vintage razors once in a while!

    Mitchell’s Match-up and Mix up

    2 Days growth again, ready to try the Pearl Flexi OC again. Same setup as before

    Hot Water Prep and Preshave = Proraso Wood and spice
    Cream/Soap = MWF + Stirling Bergamot and Lavendar super lather
    Brush = Omega 10049
    No Bowl = Face lathering
    Razor = Pearl Flexi OC 139.9 grams
    Blade = Fresh Permasharp
    Passes = 2
    Post = Usual CWR, Alum, rinse, pat dry, Thayer’s rose petal, L’Occitane Cedrat
    ASL = Clubman Pinaud
    Scent = Lime Sec Cologne
    Score = 9.8 / 10
    Damage = Thought I felt a nick below the jawline: nothing to see. (Minor delayed weeper later just visbible)
    Alum provided lots of feedback

    Another day with the heavy Pearl Flexi, this time set on 2
    A technique-focused shave with a fresh blade was rewarding in many ways
    With the right angle there was good audio feedback of the blade cutting
    Very happy with the razor: not sure I will ever need more than setting 2, but who knows what the future holds!

    Wonderful Wednesday to everyone

    thank you Chris.seems some red tips including british ones had plating flaking issues,not the first time i've seen examples,thankfully mine has it on the safety bar corners..no performance issue.but some have big pocks on the outer doors..:):eatdrink047:

    Thank you Chris...Correct, MWF and Kent are/where the same shaving soap. In the past, MWF also sold it to Bluebeard's Revenge as well with their "skull & crossbow "logo though they have long since dropped it from their line of products and have switched entirely to shave creams. That soap was marked with Bluebeard's Revenge, it was also more in price for the same product. People buy with their eyes, because the manufacturing labelling was more attractive to the buyers eye than the traditional MWF & Kent had/have. When ever I buy something I always look at the "active ingredients" rather than just buying a product that has a fancy label, as 9 times out of ten you can the same product for a fraction of the price. Yours- Barry.

    Thanks, Gary! The absolute last thing I needed was a new razor, but whatever ... it's beautifully machined - by a Canadian maker too - and very very easy to use correctly. I could set the shaving angle perfectly with my old one even if I was paying no attention at all. And it's cheaper than a Lamborghini :)

    Great shave and pic, Gary! Before it lost its way in the trackless wilderness of multi-blade cartridges, Gillette made some great razors.

    That's another beautiful Jayaruh brush. He really knows how to bring out the grain!

    What does penance done by lamplight smell like? Different from daytime penance? To be honest, I find the names of some artisan products make absolutely no sense at all!

    Thanks for the assessment of the Pearl Flexi OC. Sounds like a good razor but not quite my cup of tea -- which may save me some money down the line. :)

    As for my new Henson Medium -- we BOTH know perfectly well that you really did mean TOY... ;)

    Interesting! I didn't know that about Bluebeard's Revenge. But not the first time a fancier "badge" has been pasted on a product along with a markup of 10 to 50% or even higher...
