Here my Shave of the Day (02.04.2025)


Razor: Giesen & Forsthoff 1920 // Blade: Gillette yellow // Soap: Mike ´s Barber Shop // Brush: Maggard´s Marble // Aftershave: Witch Hazel - Pinaud Clubman

Long time no use with my 1920 from G&F. So i thought to give it a go.

In combination with the blade the shave was very smooth and gentle. Mike ´s Barber Shop performed as expected. Great scent and the lather was wonderful. The brush with it´s gorgeous handle was a pleasure to use.

To close out the shave, some Witch Hazel followed by Pinaud Clubman to have these good old Barbershop vibes.

A 10 out of 10

Although this De Vergulde Hand soap is very cheap it’s so good. It’s been around for over 450 years so the company obviously knows what it’s doing, its scent is lovely, it gives fantastic lather so easily and it’s very skin friendly. It’s one of the Netherlands’ finest products. The matching balm has the same scent, and it’s so moisturizing as well as soothing - not only that, it has a bit of a menthol sensation. Finally the Obsession fragrance and that’s it, that’s all. Three passes gave me a great BBS shave that was lots of fun!

This razor is a beaulty. I love these EverReady. They have such a nice finish and art work.

The Williams Mug Shave Soap lathered well with Jayaruh #466 Synthetic Brush. Two passes and touch ups with the Yaqi Adjustable razor and the Gillette Silver Blue Blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Humphrey's Witch Hazel and Pinaud Citrus Musk EDC. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...
