Shaving Recipe for today.

Prep: Warm shower:/Cien Men Energize Shower Gel.

Pre:
Cold wet flannel to my face & head.
Pears Transparent bar Soap.
Brush: Yaqi Sagrada Familia 24mm Synthetic.
Bowl Lather.
Bowl: Tesco's Ceramic 'Cosmo' Side Bowl.
Lather: Cella Extra Extra Bio Organic Aloe Vera Shaving Cream.
Razor: Baili BD191 head w/Muhle R89 Handle. - Dorco Prime Platinum. (D1)
Razor: Parker InjRzr. (Head/Dome)- Personna Injector PTFE. (D4)

Post:
Cold Water Face & Head Rinse./Cold water face & Head wash with brush squeezing's,/Alum Rub./Cold Water Rinse./Homemade (~Spring/Summer mix~) Lemon, Eucalyptus, Tea Tree, Essential Oils.5 Menthol Crystals Mixed Together With Care+Witch Hazel./Cella Bio Organic Aloe Vera ASL./Aloe Vera Gel.

(Face & Head Shave)

A new shave set up to start the weekend...

It's been a while since I last used the Cella extra extra Bio shaving cream, which provides a wonderful lather this vegan version is equally as good to it's tallow sibling and like the tallow version it's slick protective and doesn't dry out and leaves your skin feeling hydrated and smooth. The mild-light fresh & Citrusy matching aftershave is very pleasing leaving a good post shave feel.

The mildness of the Baili BD191 head and assertiveness of the Dorco Prime Platinum is another great combo cutting through my face stubble with effortless ease.

Over the last few months I've really enjoyed my mini focuses revisiting razors that I've hardly added to my DE razor rotation, it made me more appreciative to them and shown me that they can provide me with good shaving results.

Another close comfortable face & head shave with no errors to report. Finishing the shave off with a few small dollops of Aloe Vera Gel.

My face & precious swede are feeling smooth and smelling divine.

Thanks for your excellent post. I have razors I hardly ever use also. I thought of one this morning while shaving. It's a $2.00 YUMA I purchased off a shave site in Turkey years ago. It looks like the cheapest pot metal on the planet but gives a great and efficient shave.

Something that I've learned from the forum is "technique trumps tools". I have always been curious about the Turkish YUMA razor, It's appearance doesn't look too good, but my theory is, if you have shaving confidence & practice your technique then you can get a good shave from most DE razors. As always, YMMV.

The Musgo Real Shaving Soap lathered well with Jayaruh #466 Synthetic Brush. Two passes and touch ups with the Yaqi Adjustable razor and the Gillette Silver Blue Blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Humphrey's Witch Hazel and Pinaud Citrus Musk EDC. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

Oh la la it’s been a little while since I used strong menthol so I decided to go all out with it this morning. My two dear brothers Fernando and Jaco are two master artisans - Fernando’s Citrus Melody soap and aftershave smell so friggin gorgeous - lemon, lime, grapefruit and a bit of tangerine all come together to give a wonderful refreshing feeling - the soap is a tallow based treasure with awesome lather, lots of slickness, a POWERFUL menthol sensation, and such a soothing postshave feeling. Jaco’s Stoffel balm is another South African work of art with a nice peppermint scent, and it’s so moisturizing as well as soothing. The Citrus Melody aftershave is witch hazel based so it never stings or burns and it freezes the daylights out of you. Finally the lovely Eau Sauvage fragrance and I’m good to go. Am I ever loving my Goodfella razor - although it’s mild it performs VERY efficiently - another brilliant three pass BBS shave that was so much fun!

Yesterday here would have been a great day for Polar Ice....plesantly warm. Back to chilly today, though. After I finish my Osage Rub, I'll make a dccision-either another Osage, or my intro to Polar Ice.

Polar Ice smells great BUT: It’s very illogically named because although menthol is listed as an ingredient there’s NO cooling effect at from it. No big deal because I love it for the barbershop scent experience.
