One difference with the Blade razors is that it's harder to slide the cap off.

    Greetings,

    Early morning shave,

The Gillette Skin Ultra Sensitive Shave Cream provided me with a more than adequate lather in a short space of time leaving a good post shave feel.

In my next week shaves I will be revisiting the "Derby Usta " after seeing @Trigger "Joe" using the "Derby Extra" with his Shavette posting it jogged my memory that It's been a while since I last added a Derby to my blade rotation.

A close comfortable 2 pass + pick ups silky smooth shave with no errors to report.

Finishing the shave off with a few small dollops of Aloe Vera Gel.

My face is feeling smooth, & smelling divine.;)

Keep safe, and enjoy your day ladies & gentlemen.

I found 2 solutions to make it easier with the BLADE razor....1)-slide it halfway off the night before, so it'll be easier to slide off before use, 2)-dispose of the razor after one use. Meanwhile, I'll look for somewhere I can get back to the Gilllette Sensor Deuce I normally use.

Nice Throwback Thursday shave :). Course I didn't have my favorite razor, but the post above should help me. The Proraso foam came out nice and cloud-like-good help. Shaking and dunking is the way to go with foams. Have yet to test it with Barbasol. Anyway, just like yesterday, clean and clear all over minus North Porcupine. I did SOMEWHAT better at South Porcupine, but could still use improvement(I blame the razor for this, thus in this regard TOOLS trump TECHNIQUE). One pass. Love that Proroaso A.S. Will repeat tomorrow.

    2 days growth

    Same prep, preshave and soap

    Rocket HD

    Omega boar 10049

    Merkur super platinum (1)

I remember not having liked this blade previously

It is quite smooth but not the sharpest of the bunch but it did just fine on 2 days growth

2 passes and a few touches ups

ATG was feasible with this setup

Starting to see the end of this Stirling soap… maybe another week or so should see the end of it

Usual post followed by Santal Spirit Sandalwood

Delightful Friday to one and all

    Good morning.

    Gillette Fatboy (7)
Gillette 7 o'clock Permasharp DE Blade (fresh)
    Rockwell Synthetic Brush
Captain's Choice 45th Parallel SC and AS
    Stirling Alum Block
    Beard Growth: 3 days

I definitely needed a shave so I decided to make it a Fatboy Friday session. I decided to lower the setting to 7 because I went with a fresh blade. I went with the Captain's Choice 45th Parallel shave cream because it makes a quick, slick lather. Here's my lather:

    20250411_101355.jpg

Three error-free passes gave me a very close, comfortable shave. The alum feedback was minimal on my neck and nonexistent everywhere else. Splashed on the wonderfully scented matching aftershave and I am ready for the day. Take care.

Nice job noticing the Pasteur discount, Gary. They just e-mailed me, saying they "hadn't heard from me in a while" and offering me a 10% discount on my next purchase. That stunned me somewhat, as I bought something from them not too long ago. Caswell-Massey gets like that with me, too. I'd love to get a Bill Neumann note with a discount. Hasn't happened yet. Shux.
