Lather: Arko + Palmolive Classic grated Shave sticks.
Razor: Baili BD191 head w/Muhle R89 Handle.- Derby Usta. (D1)
Razor: Parker InjRzr. (Head/Dome) - Personna Injector PTFE. (D4)

Tuesday April 15 (very early morning) - Anything Goes, Awful April

Prep: Hot shower

Razor: Matte black stainless steel Supply 2.0 injector with "nick-proof" SE comb plate / Personna blade (maybe 10?)

Soap: TOBS Lavender shave cream / croap

Brush: Semogue SOC cherrywood fitted w/ APShaveCo 24mm Tuxedo synthetic knot

Lather Bowl: None

Last shave: three or four days ago

This is the first shave I have bothered to report for April; I think it's actually my fourth of the month. Since I haven't been logging them, I am not sure.

In mid-March, I slipped on some ice and bashed my right wrist. I thought it was sprained, put an elastic bandage and a bit of a splint on it and tried to ignore it. After about a week, I went to get it checked, was sent for X-rays, and found I had broken and slightly displaced the tip of a bone in it - and may have left treatment a bit too late for complete healing. So for April Fools' Day, I got a cast (rather appropriate).

It's a very nice cast - for many applications, apparently thick plaster casts are no longer a thing. Mine is very light, thermo-plastic molded to the arm and then laced tight. It has a thin neoprene membrane lining and nylon outer cover and is spackled with air holes. It's waterproof, slightly breathable, adjustable and removable and washable. But with all that, it's still a cast that holds my wrist awkwardly immobile. And I will need it at least for all of April.

Hence "Awful April" as a shaving month. Without wrist flexion, fine motor control for many tasks is almost impossible. It turns out that shaving is one of them. With one wrist totally unable to flex, it is no longer a relaxing pleasure but a chore that is a complete PITA. (By the way, so is typing: this report is taking me about three times longer than usual to type with an unusual number of typos to fix.)

For "Anything Goes April", the first thing that went on my first shave of the month was my beard and moustache. I used the trimmer on my electric razor to cut them down to short stubble, then shaved my entire face clean with my Supply injector. I have used the injector for all my shaves this month, because it is easier for me than a DE. I will road test my new Henson Medium when I have gotten rid of this wretched cast.

For today's shave, the synthetic loaded with TOBS croap easily face lathered a working surface for the injector. My usual two passes then got me from scruffy stubble to sort of cleanshaven. To get to DFS, I then had to finish with more small cleanup strokes than usual under my nose and on the right side of my neck due to awkward and clumsy passes there. However the alum was silent afterwards, so that was good.

A great post John. I wish you a speedy recovery with your injury. I haven't gave my Supply V2 a proper run out in a long time, I will use it for my head/dome shaves in my May focus, to familiarise myself to it again.

all else the same as yesterday.

A bit lackadaiscal on the right-side sideburn area, but fine everywhere else. I need to get back to my favorite razor(Gillette Sensor Deuce Pivot + DisposeABLE NOW, so I can relax and focus on making my shave the best it can be. With the BLADE, I decided I can't relax, simply put. I just skipped that area, no pain involved. In fact, no pain ANYWHERE. The soap didn't jump onto the Jayaruh, as well as it has done before. That is a technique issue(or LACK OF), not the Jayaruh brush itself, which has treated me fine since I purchased it. It's rare to see a "Tools Trump Technique" AND "Technique Trumps Tools" shave all in one, but that's what happened today. 2 passes. Good work with the Puros A.S. again. Pretty Outstanding.

Ever tried shaving with other hand? I can do small bits with my left hand on the left side of my face, but not much more
Could be a challenge for another month maybe.... Ambidextrous April anyone?

A much more relaxed shave today. Why. I got a bag of the razors I like yesterday, and went right to work this morning. Closed out(for now)the Mama Bear Soaps Beau Brummel. Great shave all around. NO hairs left anywhere(especially on North Porcupine, which always happened with the BLADE razors). I still had a whole bag of the BLADES left, and they fit nicely into my travel bag. Nice finish again from the Puros A.S,, on which I am getting pretty low. To help keep the Puros handy, I'll rotate that with the San Juan Hill. I like Puros better, though. As Outstanding As It Gets.

I went with an easy setup to shave for this session. Three error-free passes for a BBS result. Alum was not silent, but it wasn't loud either. Splashed on that old-time barbershop aftershave to top this wonder shave. Take care.

Fine shave Barry. Liked the mixing of the Arko and Palmolive soaps.

Sorry about your hand John. I appreciate you posting and shaving while you still are hurting. Pray that you will be on full throttle soon. Take care of yourself.
