Wednesday, April 16 Vintage Williams~~Culmak 92~~Wolfman WR1~~Art of Shaving Sandalwood EdT Fair amount of Williams remaining. Primo'll get er done.
Thursday, April 17 Vintage Williams~~Kent BLK8~~2010 Mühle R41/Wizamet Iridium Super~~YSL Jazz Do you want to make a 3017 easy? Start a Stank Collection!
Another one bites the dust, the Trumper's is done. Typical English cream quality and the scent was perfect for cold weather. Now time for some variety before I select the next 3017. I have to agree with our famous tenor @Primotenore , start a stank collection and a shaving soap 3017 is easy.
Friday, April 18 Vintage Williams~~Rubberset 400/3~~2010 Mühle R41/Wizamet Iridium Super~~2016 Invictus Aqua Gettin' ready to rock some summer "stanks" and at the top of the list is this OG Paco Rabanne Invictus Aqua. Salty, Marine accord with great longevity. Am I too old to be sportin' this one... Ask me if I care.
This "Stank collection" persuasion has me worrying-of all the shave products I have, which are the stank ones? I like them all, but some may find a few of them stank quality.
Congrats Keith! As you were wearing two watches when you finished the Trumper's, you'll never actually know exactly when this feat was accomplished. Next time, if the occasion calls for multiple timepieces, please make sure they are synchronized to atomic time. I'll give you a pass this time. Not that you necessarily need another pass though. I'm sure you are already baby smooth.
Paul, if the juice is Clubman, it's waaaayyyyy beyond a stank and should only be used outdoors, at least 2 miles away from others, with no potential for contact with land, groundwater, or animals, while being mindful of wind direction. Otherwise, the juice is a stank. Thank you for asking.
I have not purchased a new soap is some time, but I was curious about Zingari Man, the scent sounded interesting and I can support a Korean vendor. I think our resident opera star was channeling my shave. Patchouli and Oud, two sents I enjoy and I know another on this site that enjoys them. The stank was wonderous, I will comment on the preformance after a couple of shaves. What to pair this with I searched deep in the closet and found Amougage Memior Man. But @Primotenore mentioned how hard a stank 3017 is, today is that day for the Memoir Man. Just enough for one heavy dose and it is empty now. Rounding out the shave is on my top blades, a Grim Butcher, she is an 8/8 full hollow, does not flex and makes lots of noise. To whip up the soap was a Thäter brush, one of my favoirtes. For @wristwatchb I like to set my watches a minute or two fast. Keeps me on time. Appreciate your attention to detail, two shaves, two days, two different watches.
Yeahh, I knew that would be you, Charlieeeeeee(HAAAAH, long lung breath). Let me say I believe I've used Clubman at times when my brother-in-law's cat was here(that's 2 FEET, not miles). Good ol' Tater, she didn't mind, was probably happy to watch me shave. I miss that cat(but not just for the shave reason).
Saturday, April 19 Vintage Williams~~Morris & Forndran Ali Baba 2~~Cooper Monobilt~~Invictus Aqua (2016) Making headway on the Williams. The Sabini knot is stunning. Chose the Monobilt as an homage to @jtspartan Thinking about you, friend.
A week of variety. Second shave with Zingari Man and this soap needs to be loaded heavy, it is not a 'thirsty' soap. Good perormance and great stank. The C-Mon replica brush is a soap hog so it was a good match, finished it off with Classica by Sospiro. Today is a warm day so I picked Sterling Electric Sheep, there could be mosquitoes now that the weather is warming up. It is a bowl from @jtspartan, I picked before seeing Primo's post. The Paladin Keyhole had lather flying around the den but with the window open it kept the bugs out. The stank is a classic and one of my favorites, YSL Rive Gauche Pour Homme. I have couple extra 'cans' in storage. Both blades were made Koraat. On the left ias a 7/8 spash motif in half hollow. On the right is the 14 2.0, an 8/8 double bellied hollow. I have three razors from Koraat and he is always a pleasure to work with and produces excellent custom razors. When I ordered the 14 double bellied hollow he saw I commented online that I had a 8/8 full hollow that I loved but it had a major problem, it would flex when I shaved. He saw my post and promised this one will not flex. I hope everyone had an enjoyable Easter.
The week of variety continues: In the Old Spice mug is vintage Old Spice, best performing soap I have ever used. The scent is gone but the performance is not. A Brad Sears brush so I could mug lather and add in my bedazzled Ed Brice smiling razor. Just like jeans in the 80s this razor is bedazzeled but unfortunately the rubies did not catch the light for the picture. The stank du jour was Le Barbier de Tanger by MDCI. Despite it's cool name this dissapointes, smells good then poof, it is gone. Steam Punk was the variety of choice, good performance and enjoyable scent. Cobra Classic for a quick close shave and a Whipped Dog brush. The stank is a fun one, Mr. Blass from Bill Blass topped of with one of my fancy watches.
Wednesday, April 23 Vintage Williams~~Vie-Long~~Gillette New LC~~Paco Rabanne 1 Million Privé The Williams broke into about 15 pieces at the bottom of my bowl. I mashed them together as best I could and will see how many more shaves I can muster up. The 1 Million Privé is a lovely stank.
Still enjoying some variety. Decided to break into my tallow AoS stash, this one is Sandalwood scent, but it is very faint now. But the performance is what I remember, excellent. My Ambre Nuit is getting low, not sure how I can replace this one given the international shipping restrictions To support our Korean vendor I purcahsed this tub of Tabula Raza Dezember. I will have another go at this before pronouncing my judgment. I finally got the edge right on this 7/8 Art Razor. The Pour Monsieur is now empty, another stank 86'ed. I did buy a replacement this week as I enjoy it in the summer.
