I have quite a collection of fine Gillette vintage razors and I love them all. They all give great shaves over all for me. Meeting criteria that I will list below the Gillette I would choose may surprise some. For my skin type and a comfortable shave every time I shave it would the Gillette Tech 3 piece razors.

    My criteria,
    * 1. The cost of the razor being very inexpensive so that anyone could afford one in great shape.
    * 2. Easy to take care of maintain and clean.
    * 3. Solid fit and finish and build quality that will last several lifetimes if taken care of.
    * 4. Will last a long long time if not taken care of.
    * 5 . Will give great shaves over all to most anyone and most all skin types.

The Vintage 3 piece Gillette Tech razors all years and styles Pre & post war pretty much over all meet these standards for me.

    Anyone else agree with me?

    Happy Shaves To Everyone,
    Bill G

*My 1956 B-3 Gillette Ball Tech Etched Top Cap. I do really like this one but as said I like all the different tech razors.

i have a soft spot for techs and have many,i see one that's priced right and most always try to rescue it.they cover nearly half of my current 50+ gillette collection.from many locations around the world, mostly british..:):eatdrink047:great daily shavers for me,but they do take an extra pass compared to other favourites..

For me with most all razors with my beard and skin type I am a 1 pass and touch up guy maybe 2 passes. I shave every 2 days most of the time, sometimes I will go 3 days if I get lazy. This is probably one of the reasons I like the tech razors so much.

It’s really cool when we save all these old Gillette razors and give them life again. You have quite a collection going on there with 50+ razors. I am right there with you.

    Happy Shaves,
    Bill G

Except for the painted tips which might wear off but won't affect it's usability, a Gillette red tip super speed would be my choice.

For a do everything model I use the Gillette Adjustable in the Slim handle model.

Reason it had to be the Gillette model is all the clones you can buy new of the Gillette Slim Adjustable tend to have issues with the dial for aggression easy to bump or in the case of the Viking Emperor series they lock but do not click plus the two combs a more aggressive and smooth. Then the one good version of the Gillette Fatboy Adjustable from Rockwell is expensive for what you are getting at now $149.98 USA. The las issue majority of the clones to the Gillete Adjustable models lack a small comb style going smooth comb or on some flip top designs some rollers that tend to stop working.

I find The Gillette Adjustable models the best having a slim handle version a backup in lightly modified case cover to hold my Micro Touch One inside as well. I went pre the Super Adjustable with because most of those needed some kind of cleaning of ones to be found under $50 and some the plastic was broken and falling off on the main grip part or the open close knob, never both.

I like the adjustable despite the cleaning being a tiny bit harder than other Gilette models, because the Adjustable can be adjusted to the height needed in the areas and for my chin allows for a wider cut on higher numbers to get lower so I do not have to shave at a more awkward angle or go harder to get a better shave. The only thing is under the moustache area I should not go more than 3 on the dial because on 4 on up there I always cut myself or at best rip out a hair but often is more hairs ripped, no matter the side on main shaver and how clean the shaver is.

The other reason I like the Gillette Slim Adjutable as the only model I uses is adjustability to how sensitive my skin is on that day or how long I let go is important so I can go from 2--4 as the most commonly used settings as 1 is usually too low so it ether snags or is used only for doing more a touch up of hairs that are low but not fully low as this is as low as the old Gillette Super Speed blue flair knob and models based on this model I tend to skip. I do however use at times up to 6 when the blade is near the end use on parts like my chin. I have used 7-9 just to know what they feel like and just ripped out hairs/cut myself so I do not use these higher settings.

I feel the need to not buy Gillette Super Speed as the Weishi/a few other brands make a few new shavers based on the old Gillette Super Speed Elongated Flair knob pre color knob or base off the newer but still old black plastic grip Super Speed as these are according to reviews very similar models where the design is made as both a short handle designs or a longer Lady Gillette length but now most in this length are made for both genders except for one model by Parker. The Parker 29L is a clone in of the Lady Gillette in colors then some never made like the all metal never made by Gillette, same for never made by Gillette Purple, then in colors Gillete did make pink, hard to find gold/pink gold, and the light blue color but used to have a darker blue too that was dropped as a cost cutting measure. The Parker 29L looks like a clone of the Lady Gillette that used exact the same head design as the Gillette Super Speed no color flair knob, I assume this is what the Parker design is based off of.

Tech is simple and works every time.
Nothing to do with the adjustable nonsense.
