Your Clubman Special Reserve turned GREEN(like mine has), but I think we already discussed this frustrating persuasion.
I didn't turn green, Paul. Your bottle, which btw, I piffed to you, is an older formulation. I am sorry you are frustrated with it.
Catch up time, the new 3017 target is Steam Punk, I think this was LE soap and sadly impossible to replace. Kicked of the first shave with a 7/8 damaskus Portland Razor Co staight razor. This was my first custom razor. The brush was made by our own @jtspartan with an Omega Pro boar knot. CD Leather Oud, a long lasting fine stank. Round 2 featured a 7/8 Dorko which I bought NOS, I think it is from the 1950s, a flashy razor with gold engraving and butterscotch scales. Another brush from @jtspartan and the stank du jour was Musc Ravageur. Round 3 a Joris razor loaded with a Iradium Super steel, Omega Pro boar brush and stand by Dior, Fahrenheit. Sunday shave was a variety shave, I am enjoying the Zingari Man Amir, this one will get but away when the weather gets to warm. The steel for this shave is Raserpur, a modern German razor, not sure if they are still in biz or not but this is a fine razor. The brush is from Whipped dog with a ceramic handle. I found this stank hidden in the pack of my stank cabinet, now I know how to overcome my lack of popularity at Piggly Wiggly. I just needed some Sex Appeal. I wonder what the vintage juice smell like?
Great shaves, my friend. That Leather Oud would last me until 2050. If you put your mind to it, you could knock it out before the end of the year.
Sunday, May 4 Stirling Bonaparte~~Simpson "Rover"~~Henckels Friodur 6/8 INOX, No. 472 I keep threatening to sell off my straights, but dog gone, they are fun to use and I get really great shaves. The Bonaparte is mos def® an acquired taste.
I see some humor here (Green + Clubman), but I will let it pass. As you all know, my gentlemanly restraint remains very, very strong. I hope everyone is well. All good here. I'm shaving daily with mostly 1 pass and a few touch-ups. My goal is a nice, smooth shave with no weepers or irritation. This seems to be working pretty well, especially if I pay attention to skin stretching and lather hydration. A big thanks once again to @Primotenore for introducing me to bowl lathering. It has allowed me to take my shaves to the next level. Hope y'all have a smooth week and enjoy your smooth mugs.
Romaine calm, @Primotenore. I moss say the shaving bowl you PIF'd me has not turned green. Thankfully, it is made of stainless steel, and I dry it thoroughly after every use. Otherwise, I just leaf it alone. If, olive a sudden it turns green, I will lettuce you know.
Aaaah, I still use it-when I say "frustrated", I meant that it shocked me that it looked different, but actually, the fact that it is an older formulation helps me appreciate it more(I'm just a vintage kinda man).
I only use one mug, interestingly for the Clubman clone from Mama Bear. Should last me another fall/winter season. I'm still a "puck-latherer". Didja have a nice seat at the KENTucky Derby?
Joseph, , I was going to step in and apologize on behalf of @wristwatchb misspelling "remain", but once I read his whole post, no apology needed. We know he's just a funnyman.
Hey Paul. We're not into big crowds, betting, and wearing big hats (aside from my Dunce Cap), so we have never been to the Derby. It is fun to go to Churchill Downs and the Derby Museum occasionally, though. I do enjoy the history and seeing the horses.
Monday kicks off another week of 3017 focus. The steel is a JWest razor, unusual in that it is a near wedge and 7/8. It does take a fine edge and I enjoy the extra heft. Feeling extra stanky today, Montale Aoud Cuir d'Arabie. It is holiday so not too many people to offend. Deside to go with the legend, 2011 R41 loaded with a Super Iridium. A fine shave ensued.
