good morning gents
3rd outing with the canadian norfolk de luxe,this time with a gillette platinum blade.
fine gin club lather built with the yaqi silvertip
smooth 2 passer,north to south,south to north,minor pickups
cold water rinse,gents gin splash
gummy face shave.no dots or burn like the first outing
i doubled up on the splash ie"clubman gents gin" as this is an alcohol based afteshave,and
this product really speaks to you if your technique is off
matching splash to finish,lovely post shave

i think this razor likes the platinum blade the best so far,
though it seems most of my gillettes like this blade lately.
i have several razors in rotation,at least 7,and all with a variety of blades,
so the face is used to anything from wilkinson sword to nacet,
vintage spoiler to 7 oclock blue/black.
7 oclock green and yellows are best red tip and adjustable blades for me..
and so on..
still enjoying my beloved gillettes,but still careful with a select few..

Pretty good Throwback shave on this Thursday. After aa "shake and dunk" job, the Gillette came out nice and cloud-like, the way all foams SHOULD(IMO). Setup was great over the face&neck, but not so the shave itself, as I had a cut along the jawline just above Central Cactus Nation. I think the cut threw me off from making sure there were no misses at the sideburn areas(there were on BOTH sides). One pass. Fine Latigo(dupe of Knize 10)for the close, and THAT went well. Fairly Outstanding. Must do better tomorrow, with same arsenal.

Finished the Stirling Bergamot and Lavender 2 days ago. At last. Amazing how long a sample lasts!

Today: 2 Days growth

Hot Water Prep and Preshave = Proraso Cypress and vetiver shave cream
Soap = Stirling Ozark Mountain
Brush = Omega Boar 10049
Bowl = White plastic
Razor = Gillette No 66
Blade = Parker Premium platinum SS (2)
Smooth, not too sharp, nice and easy
Promoted to the One Blade bin nevertheless
Passes = 2 +
Post = Usual CWR, Alum, rinse, pat dry, Thayer’s rose petal, L’Occitane balm
ASL = Clubman Reserve Whiskey woods
Scent = Prada Luna Rossa Ocean


Can’t go wrong with this combination. Another damage free shave
Lucky streak so far

I decided to have a Fatboy Friday shave. Three error-free passes gave me an ultra-smooth shave. The Seaforth Sea Spice Lime soap has an awesome scent and makes a great, slick lather. Here's my lather:



Only had the alum feedback on my neck, but it wasn't uncomfortable. Splashed on the matching aftershave to end this session. Take care.

Nice shave this morning to close out the Gillette/Fine Latigo group. Better today than yesterday, mainly as there was ZERO damage. That was the key difference today compared to yesterday. Again, the foam came out in cloud form...NICE. Good work from the Fine Latigo A.S. As Outstanding As It Gets.
