  1. Friday Night 30/05/25

Razor : Aylsworth Apex SS satin finish (Canada)
Blade : Wizamet super iridium (1).
Brush : Troy Craft custom made (Brush Of Memories).
Soap : Razorock Mudder Focker .
Aftershave : Layrite Deluxe No9 Bay Rum.
    Razor Weight : 106 grams.
    Hi all,
I had a brilliant late night shave tonight after an early finish on night shift.
What better way to start the WA day long weekend than a great close and very efficient shave with the Apex SS.
Kaleb Aylsworth absolutely nailed it with this DE razor I have not tried the TI version but you can read @Errol review on Paste & Cut if you haven't already.
The Apex SS is one of my favourites and I'm afraid I will have to say it.
I don't have or have tried a Gillette that is on the same level shave wise. (My opinion only)

The Razorock Mudder Focker is a nice soap with good cushioning and face feel with a pleasing scent to boot.
Very easy to bowl lather with the help of a wonderful Troy Craft custom brush fitted with a Muhle STF knot.
Finished of with a generous splash of Layrite Deluxe No9 Bay rum Aftershave.

One pass WTG/ATG no touch ups no nicks Done.....
Have a great weekend and a great next shave.
    Cheers.

  15. Proraso Week-end :): Here it is,both days

    prep-Nivea 4 Men Bodywash(in shower)
    lather Proraso Shave Foam(Refreshing)
    razor-Gillette Sensor Deuce Pivot DisposeABLE
    A.S.-Proraso(Refreshing).

For today(Sat).-A solid shake of the can prior to use and it came out like the cloud I love to see in cans. Didn't bother to dunk it in the sink water, as I didn't want to mix it with the hot tap. Fine shave all over. Maybe I could have done better down at Cactus Nation(neck), but it's OK. No damage anywhere. One pass. Nice close from the Refreshing A.S. Very Outstanding.

  20. Oops! I've missed a couple days of reporting. Today's the final day of Menthol May for me, and I had a very simple, quick shave this morning. Nothing new from past reports except the blade.

Set-up: Morning shower, some house-brand facial cleanser for dry-ish skin.

LEA hard puck soap, lathered on the face
    Parker best badger brush
    Edwin Jagger razor
Big Ben blade. First time trying this brand.
Nivea for Men sensitive COOLING post-shave balm afterwards.

Not trying for a particularly close shave today, but it was good for a single pass, and no damage. The Big Ben blade seems pretty similar to the other Egyptian blades I've tried. We'll see what it's like tomorrow, but out of Shark, Lord, Silver Star, and Big Ben, I'd say I prefer Lord (Platinum is what I've tried).

Lots of tasks to complete today, which is why I was not overly concerned about closeness this AM. Mostly I just wanted the serenity of the process, and to finish out Menthol May properly.
    (-:

**EDIT: I should have said I found the Big Ben blade to be similar to the Egyptian Shark and Lord blades I've tried. The Silver Star was radically different (worse) for me than the others.
