    Great shave!

    Is Hub City still in business? Their website doesn't load for me, and their FB page doesn't seem to have been updated in a couple to few years.

    I have not tried the Indian version, but I have heard it is very close to the Schulton version.

    Monday June 2 (morning) - Jeeves / JTSpartan / Just Do the Basics June plus Menthol Monday

    I am doing a declared Rule this month using this setup for every shave:

    IMG_20250602_123322.jpg

    Prep: Hot shower with Aleppo olive oil and 20% bay laurel oil soap (traditional anti-acne)

    Razor: Matte black stainless steel Supply 2.0 injector with "nick-proof" SE comb plate / Supply White Label (house-branded Personna)(3)

    Soap: Jeeves of Hudson Street Private Study (later renamed simply "Bay Rum")

    Brush: Jason @jtspartan 30DC Limited Edition maple with cashmere synthetic knot

    Lather Bowl: None

    Post: rinse, alum, rinse, Jeeves of Hudson Street Bay Rum splash

    Last shave: Wednesday May 21 (morning) - 12 days ago

    I will be using this setup for the month.

    The Jeeves soap only has a very light scent remaining. (The splash, being in a glass bottle, still has full strength.) However, it still retains its shaving performance as a slick and protective soap. And the brush is like most good modern synthetics and loads easily and paints well.

    I did my usual two passes with the heavy injector - WTG on the face and ATG on the neck, then XTG everywhere. A few minor pickups to catch stray whiskers but not many.

    Alum was silent. The splash contains glycerin and witch hazel for good skin care as well as a light dose of menthol. A pleasant finish to a good shave.

    Hope the week treats everyone well.

    Happy almost-birthday, Joe! Or A very merry un-birthday, if you watched that cartoon when you were young.

    Belated post

    Time to try shaving with the shaving cream only, skipping the Pre shave routine apart from hot water soak….

    2 Days growth

    Hot Water Prep x 3

    Cream = Palmolive Shave cream with Coconut extract
    The tube is nearing the end so it was time to try and shave with it on its own
    Brush = Razorock synthetic
    Bowl = Face lather
    Razor = Eversharp Hydromagic black handle L-1
    Blade = Personna PTFE (1)
    Passes = 2 and done
    Post = Usual CWR, Alum, rinse, pat dry, Thayer’s rose petal, L’Occitane Cedrat ASB
    ASL = PR Barbe Dure with Oud
    Scent = Burberry Hero Parfum Intense

    Just a hint of a minor nick left side below lower lip but this quickly disappeared in the lather and failed to resurface again

    Lovely smooth shave with the Hydromagic, this is a neat little razor

    I do feel that the lather, while excellent, is not as good as when I use it as a Preshave and then lather something else over the top of it. But still a very nice affordable cream to use on its own

    Well, it's your shave, Chris. So you should enjoy it your way. There is nothing illegal, immoral or fattening about using a shave cream with something else lathered on top of it if that gives you a better result. So go for it!

    I am meeting Joe @JACarbone for breakfast this morning so a shave was in order.
    Three passes gave me a drama-free BBS shave. I was running late so I did a facelather instead of a bowl lather. Alum feedback was minimal. Splashed on the witch hazel and the matching aftershave and I can meet the world. Take care.

    Here was the Tuesday shave:

    prep-Nivea 4Men Bodywash(in shower)
    lather-Suave unscented soap(from West Main, which now doesn't exist, or may still but with a different name)
    brush-BOAR(green handle, vanilla knot)
    razor-Gillette Sensor Deuce Pivot DisposeABLE)
    A.S.-Pinaud-Clubman Reserve(Gent's Gin)

    You can see I used an all-year soap, but with a late -spring-summer A.S. Course that's a great benefit to Unscented soaps(IMO). A minute at the Loading Dock, with the Boar brush. Rembrandt would be pleased with my "paint-job".Fine shave all around, although I might have done a little better at North Central Cactus Nation(I've been doing a "North-to-South" route with the razor to help avoid getting cuts...safer, but at times, not better). No damage. 2 passes. The Clubman A.S.was great. Most Outstanding overall.
