Nice shave this morning(Fri). The Boar brush was a good one for today-swirled the soap in fine fashion. No damage anywhere. 2 passes. Good finish with the Jockey Club A.S. (Caswell Massey). As Outstanding As It Gets.

Today is June 6th; D-day. So this morning at H-hour, I chose 1944 for my shave soap, and the seaweed extract-containing Nivea Cooling post-shave balm in memoriam of the commencement of the main thrust of Operation Overlord at Normandy. I wish I could have taken my M1 rifle out for a session today, too, but there was just too much happening today, so it just gets a check-over this year.

The shave was a high-quality 2 1/2-pass shave; very fine! I like how 1944 shave soap works. The Rex soap scents overall are not for me, unfortunately, but 1944 is one that some days I like, so I'll use it from time to time. Today seemed the most appropriate day for it.

    (Face & Head Shave)

    Birthday face & head shave.

    Greetings,

The Goodfellas' Smile Abysso Shaving Soap & ASL duo which provided me with an exceptional shave the lathering performance of the Abysso shaving soap is superb providing a great slick protective wonderfully scented lather in a short space of time. The matching ASL finishes the shave off excellently.

It's been a while since I last used my parker 87R, I find the parker TTO models slightly less efficient than the 3 piece models, that's not to say the TTO models are non-aggressive shrinking violets, because they're not!.... I find them solidly built & great value for money razors.

Out of all the remaining TTO parkers in my collection which are the 87R,22R, & 92R the 87R is my favourite, I really like the short handle, it has a good hefty weight," like all my parkers" good efficiency, and removes face and head stubble with effortless ease once you adjust to shaving with a steeper angle to get the best from them.

The Parker 87R/Gillette Winner platinum was a great smooth efficient duo...I've mentioned in many of my postings that shaving products produced in the subcontinents don't get the credit they rightly.

The mild efficient Gillette Guard performed wonderfully mowing through my head/dome stubble with ease...shaving.

What i like about the Gillette guard is the pivot handle design glides the cartridge head over the contours of my head, the wide open comb gap on the cartridge head doesn't clog up and the overall result it provides is comfortably & smooth with no irritation or cuts. However, because it is light you don't need to add excessive weight like you can with other cartridge razors if you do, It'll bite, especially shaving the sides of your head. If only the handle had more weight, it would vastly improve it's overall performance.

A close comfortable birthday face & head shave with no errors to report.

Finishing the shave off with a generous splash of Goodfellas Smile Abysso ASL.

My face & precious swede are feeling smooth and smelling divine.;)

Stay safe, and enjoy the start of the weekend ladies & gentlemen.

    1 Day growth

Same setup as yesterday except for the blade:

    Permasharp (1)

Scooped 1.25 grams (1/4 teaspoon) of the TOBS Oud into the white plastic bowl
Added some glycerine to the bowl : I find this helps the TOBS creams somewhat

Semogue Pegasus C7 finest badger 2 band was already soaking in some warm water, just the tips, (I don’t want the knot wet because when/if the lather is too wet it oozes out the back all over the place)

Shook this dry, started whipping up the lather

Added 1cc of water at a time, 7 cc of water in total, until a rich creamy shiny lather filled up the whole brush, fantastic. Next time I could easily use only half this amount of lather and still have landed up with enough. No pressure on the face with this brush, unlike the boars, just brush strokes and swirls, or else it too can cause it to leak out the back

2 passes and some minor touch ups with the No46 Popular

Despite being a fresh blade, an OC razor, just one day growth (and some judicious ATG around the more challenging areas) no damage was done

Superb fine shave: all set for the Saturday family day out

Hope you have/had a great Saturday

    Take care.

    • Razor : Alpha Shaving Stubble vs Steel Guido Brass. (Hong Kong)
    • Blade : Wizamet Iridium Extra Stainless (1).
    • Brush : Yaqi Mocha-Matcha Tea Color 26mm Synthetic.
    • Shaving Cream : Proraso Cypress & Vetyver Shaving Cream.
    • Aftershave : Cella Original Splash.
    • Weight : 105 grams.
    Hi all,
I had a lovely Shave Tonight with the Alpha Shaving Stubble vs Steel Guido razor using the open comb base plate.
I'm not going to go into the razor in much detail as I'm pretty sure that Paste & Cut Razor Review Guru has one and will go right over it.
I will say its a nicely build razor and pleasing to the eye.
The open comb plate gave me a very close efficient shave paired with the Wizamet blade.
One pass WTG/ATG Done! clean as a whistle.

    Cheers.

Not happy with my shave this morning, but course it coulda been worse. Fine job in all areas EXCEPT Central South Porcupine(middle of jawline). I don't know what happened, perhaps too much fumbling around with razor positioning. At any rate,a HUGE cut developed, and I'm still wearing a bandage for it now. Maybe I'll just skip that area tomorrow, who knows? One pass. A little too much of the A.S. and man, a little goes a LONG way with this Frosted Spearment. You don't get the sensation of it for a few seconds upon administering. The coldness matches that of any Stoylin Glacial, or Osage Rub, to me anyway. Will have to go easier with it tomorrow. For this shave, I've made up a new grade-Outstandingly Average.
