    (Face & Head Shave)

    Greetings,

    A new shave set up to start the weekend..

    The Cella extra extra Bio shaving cream provided a wonderful this vegan version is equally as good to it's tallow sibling and like the tallow version it's slick protective and doesn't dry out and leaves your skin feeling hydrated and smooth. The mild-light fresh & Citrusy ASL is very pleasing leaving a good post shave feel.

    Another close comfortable combined face & head shave with no errors to report.

    Finishing the shave off with a generous splash of Cella Bio Organic Aloe Vera ASL.

    My face & precious swede are feeling smooth and smelling divine.;)

    Stay safe, and enjoy the start of the weekend ladies & gentlemen.:cool:

    Interesting

    How does the Schick Injector II perform?
    Can one notice a difference?

    I ordered mine by mistake a year or two ago, haven't tried them yet.
    Easy to load?

    Back to back shaves:

    Friday 13 Jun 2025

    1 Days growth

    13 Jun 2025.jpg

    Hot Water Prep and Preshave = Derby Menthol
    Soap = Derby
    Brush = Pura Setola
    Bowl = White Plastic
    Razor = Eversharp Hydromagic black handle L-1
    Blade = Personna PTFE (4)
    Passes = 2 and done
    Post = Usual CWR, Alum, rinse, pat dry, Thayer’s rose petal
    ASB = L’OCCITANE Homme CAP Cedrat provided the necessary skin protection
    ASL = Clubman Pinaud
    Scent = Pinaud Lime Sec Cologne

    20 swirls on the puck today, added glycerine to the lather for the 1st and the 2nd pass. Looked nice and shiny. Lathered up easily, but looked better than it performed.

    I might be imagining it but the SE blade felt a bit rougher today. Checked it was seated fine. Yup. A-OK. Might just be because of 2 days in a row SE shave. Could be the Derby is not as good as others. Might give this another run with different software in the days ahead.

    Lovely scent from the above combo, receiving my wife’s seal of approval

    Enjoy the weekend one and all

    Hot Water Prep and Preshave = Derby Menthol
    Soap = Derby with added glycerine
    Brush = Pura Setola
    Bowl = White Plastic
    Razor = Gillette No 66 1958
    Blade = Gillette 7 o’clock Sharp Edge (1)
    Passes = 2 and done
    Post = Usual CWR, Alum, rinse, pat dry, Thayer’s rose petal
    ASB = L’OCCITANE Homme CAP Cedrat
    ASL = Clubman Pinaud
    Scent = Pinaud Lime Sec Cologne

    Much better shave today. Same software, so the roughness from yesterday was from the SE shave. Can’t be sure if it was the Hydromagic or the SE blade

    Either way I am glad I stuck with the Derby: it reassures me that it is good stuff. Got to get the right hardware and software working together

    Minor alum feedback
    As smoooooooooth as it gets

    Have a great day everyone

    They're excellent and extremely efficient. Just as easy to load.
    I'm fascinated to find out how many shaves I can get before blade change.

    Merkur Progress @3
    Indian Astra SP (1)
    La Toja stick
    B+M Cool Splash

    I used to like Astra SP, but since mainly switching to vintage Gillette razors, I find the performance a bit underwhelming. However, in this Progress and its clone Variant, ASP shines. It is also possible that the Indian version of this blade is a little sharper than the venerated Russian one. At any rate, it was a close, smooth shave.

    This is also my first use of La Toja shaving stick, and I am very impressed. It performs as well as Arko, and smells nicer (not that I was ever bothered with Arko smell). It's of course three times more expensive (at the whopping $3 per stick, it's still pretty cheap).

    All in all, a great shave. I may end up using my large stash of Astras, after all.

    A great shave , thanks for your post. I still have around 10 tucks of my russian Astra SP blades. I think I've liked them in every different razor used with them. Some blades are good in one razor and mediocre or lousy in another. I've never tried the new Astra SP blades.
    I have the La Toja Shave Stick and Shaving Cream. Both are solid performers for me.
