Fine Throwback shave yesterday. Nice paint job on the face&neck from the Prorasso Refreshing Foam. Zero damage. Great finish from the Proraso Refreshing aftershave. It was a hot&humid day, perhaps I should have gone with something colder, but the Proraso Duo worked well. One thing I like about my Refreshing Foam is I didn't have to struggle to loosen the top-it just came right off, no problem. I did struggle with the red foam, not sure how it happened, but I'm "stuck" with it. Aaaaah, no worries about that until it gets colder. Anyway, As Outstanding As It Gets for this shave.

It's hot here, so I'm mostly using my shave soaps that have a bit of cooling feeling, in rotation. Yesterday was 117 (or was it 118?) at Sky Harbor Int'l Airport in Phoenix. I'm not in Phoenix, but I'm not too terribly far away. It was slightly cooler today, but still above 110.

Yesterday, I used Astoria soap from Moon soaps, along with my Edwin Jagger razor, a Wilkinson Sword blade, and my Razor Emporium synthetic brush. Moon's Astoria is a wonderful soap, and has just a kiss of menthol for a touch of cooling. Some nice, cooling Nivea sensitive Cooling post-shave balm rounded out the 2-pass shave with zero burn and zero issues.

Today's shave was the same, but for using LEA hard soap rather than the Astoria. LEA also has a kiss of menthol. Another burn-free, issue-free 2-pass shave!

That's what Barry and you say. (And now I see the other Joe - @JACarbone - echoed it). And the purpose of the 30DC is to experiment together to improve shaving results....

Was that some kind of Travel Tech, Gary? I don't remember ever seeing a handle like that before on a Tech...

Fancy schmancy new razor, Gary! But aren't you in danger of having your Vintage Gillette Fan Club membership revoked???

FWIW, I also prefer a 'cold' water shave. I use demi-quotes around the word "cold" because there is no way to get cold water from the tap here for much of the year. It's tepid to warm at its coolest now, but it's still preferable to hot for me, in terms of irritation mitigation and general shave results.
