awesome set up,shave and pic Chris.this empire set has been nicknamed the "Angel"on other forums.i love mine.they are very rare, and funnily enough the only ones i have seen are in really nice condition, mine included.not seen one with a split handle either, which was common on gillettes of this era.:bounce017:

My shave today was headed toward a top grade, but for the end of it. What happened. I hit a speedbump down at S. Porcupine, just north of the jawline. I had to workm a bit to clean off the redness. Very well-done otherwise. A minute at the Loading Dock, of Proraso Tub soap. 2 passes. Man, that A.S. I used is COLD.(Master Splash Creatioins Frosted Spearmint). I might put it up against Osage Rub.But it's good. It was needed today. Very Outstanding. Oh, I forgot-the brush of use was the Maggard 24 mm. Marble-Handle.

I'm behind the times, too....no more Rise Regular or Menthol Shave Cream. Same with Mennen Skin-Bracer(I am grandfathering the Skin-Bracer, now it's by Proctor&Gamble).

Fabulous shave for another scorcher of a day here on LI. Prior to the shower and shave I completed a workout involving 240 Club Swing /Pullover Flow with a 15lb Clubbell. Today was on off day for the X3Bar. Nonetheless, I did work up an awesome sweat.

For the shave, the prep and brush rewarded me with a phenomenal lather.

I completed my usual three passes shave with a minor weeper but with stellar results. Now I am of to take my mother to a couple of doctor appointments. Fun times!

Hope you all manage to stay cool.

A better shave this morning, in that there were no damages. Clean, clear shave all around after a minute at the Loading Dock with the Razorock brush. I went North-South with the razor for most of the shave, and that worked fine. Another cold snap from the aftershave(aaaah, maybe some day I'll get used to it), but it did its job nicely. A little goes a long way with this baby. As Outstanding As It Gets.

    Thank you, Gentlemen Joes!

I will try a few more shaves first before deciding, but I suspect I am going to be a convert to cold water shaving.
