Very cool I was wondering just the other about all the Oud you have in your stash? Lovely collection of brushes
Eeny, meeny, miny, moe, Catch a tiger by the toe. If he hollers, let him go, Eeny, meeny, miny, moe....
it's looking like 3 soaps less and 5 razors more than the last time i photographed it all..oh,and 1 more brush...not doing all that again..
Been maybe two years since I've purchased any shaving goodies. And that was 100 Astra SP blades just because.
Still wet shaving every day, 3 passes! Still rotating through 50 some-odd razors, 20+ brushes, and 15-ish soaps. Was never so much a collector as an accumulator. Seems antique stores just aren't carrying the shaving gear they did 15 years ago. And I refuse to shop ebay.
I only do purchases when needed like my Micro Touch One an old pre Rick Harris endorsed box I got new in Walgreens in 2017 because the box was all dented up that was in 2024 starting to show more signs of dying (was slow before this from the start) to the point one time it locked up in March 2025 top the point I had to throw it on the ground to open as the final straw. In April I got a Gillette Adjustable slim handle because I was looking at butterfly adjustable shavers with the only new model ticking off all the boxes I could buy that did not have flaws like the Viking Emperor series having the no comb on one side with the other an odd wide closed comb like what King C Gillette, Bambaw, the Plow have or quality control issues the way most of the Yintel and Weishi/Yintel models have was the expensive Rockwell T2 that went from $125--$130 to $150 everywhere that I did not get. I ended up with the what most will find the least expensive model of vintage Gillette Adjustable on e-Bay, being the Gillette Adjustable slim handle for $32.77 total. I then later in early June 2025 got a backup in case at $36.87 total I modified very slightly to also hold my old Micro Touch One doing a light modification to the bottom end of the cover. Micro Touch One is my flying model for now. For some reason despite what I know more recently is the Super Adjustable being made for a longer period that for almost no reason are expensive in full working condition...Maybe because the dial dies easy on the model or in some eras the plastic cracks easier? I also made a mistake in buying more Personna USA 100 pack because the price was going up in May from $17 to $25 on Amazon so I bought some on e-Bay that were still $17 and now the price is back to normal on the Persona USA 100 pack at $17--$20 with most places around $18--$19.
