    They are also a wonderfully match for the razor head. I agree the early models of the Gillette Tech's look aesthetically pleasing.

    1 Days growth

    Hot Water Prep and Preshave = Derby Menthol shave cream
    Soap = Maca Root & Aloe
    Brush = Semogue EVO synthetic
    Bowl = white plastic

    Blade = Dorco Prime Platinum (1)
    Passes = 2 and touch ups
    Post = Usual CWR, Alum, rinse, pat dry, Thayer’s rose petal
    ASB = L’Occitane
    ASL = Blue Stratos

    Repeat super smooth easy shave, sticking with the theme, less Maca Root scooped up today but still plenty of lather. The Dorco is smooth but not too sharp imho, but a great combination in the Flare Tip nevertheless

    For Tuesday(15)no changes from yesterday. The Gillette Series Gel is nearing its end. I don't think you can find it in drugstores anymore. Another nice shave. No damage. One pass. Nice cold finish from Osage Rub. As Outstanding As It Gets.

    Wednesday Morning 16/07/2025

    • Razor : Gillette slim adjustable 1965 (K3) nickel plated brass. (7)
    • Blade : Wizamet super iridium (1).
    • Brush : Razorock beehive 28mm plissoft synthetic.
    • Soap : Stirling SC Arkadia (Beef tallow).
    • Aftershave : 4711 original aftershave.
    • Weight : 71 grams.
    Hi all,

    I had a great shave this morning with a classic Gillette whether you like it or not the Slim adjustable is an iconic razor.

    Following immediately after it’s more famous older cousin the $1.95/Fatboy adjustable.

    As far as I can tell on close inspection the adjustable head is the same on both models. (My opinion only)

    Although the plating is of better quality on the $1.95/Fatboy.

    As far as which one I prefer shave wise.

    I would pick the slim purely because the longer handle is a bit easier for me to manoeuvre.

    The razor on setting seven worked very well with the Wizamet blade.

    Like all adjustable razors , the settings are up to the individual to work out what suits them best.

    One pass WTG/ATG with a couple of touchups.

    No nicks no worries.

    Finished off nicely with the classic 4711 aftershave splash.

    Cheers.

    fine shave.:cool:.if you plave the 2 razors side by side you will see that the slim has a thinner head profile.

    Then compare the Gillette Slim Adjustable and the Super Adjustable, the sides of the head are slightly longer in the non-shaving ends on the Super Adjustable when seeing them side by side as the blade end exposer is much less especially on the later models. I noticed this when I almost picked up on e-Bay when looking for a backup Gillette Adjustable when first on the Bager & Shave before they ban me a no case Super Adjustable with a case Adjustable for my backup but since I would have been selling the Super Adjustable unless made in 1988 my birth year that is very rare being the final year of Safe-T-Shavers it was a dumb move to buy the set for $75 total including shipping in the price even if that is a good deal so I looked more and found for $36.77 total including shipping a Gillette Slim Adjustable with case being sold separately.

    Here was my "Way Of Wednesday" this morning:

    prep-Nivea 4 Men Bodywash(in shower)
    lather-Gillette Series Gel(canned)
    razor-Gillette Sensor Deuce Pivot DisposeABLE
    A.S.-Osage Rub

    Well, the canned Gillette Gel Series "squeezed" out....a sad reminder of what happened with the fake Rise Superfoam I ordered. Funny thing is, squeeze or no I got a nice amount. But still, it's time to flip this. I enjoyed it when it was good, but sadly it outlived its "goodness". There's always Barbasol, or another Gillette Foamy. But I'll be doing shave soaps for a while now, so I have time to decide. Clean clear shave all over. THAT was good, at least. No damage anywhere. Nice finish from Osage Rub. Most Outstanding. (I have to take off a few points for the weird exit from the gel).

    My shave today June 16--2025 was a 9/10 because I knew I might reopen 2 small cuts that I did yesterday but never oppened the other on the jaw/chin connect part of face.

    Used my main no case Gillette Adjustable slim handle shaver on 2 on most of jaw/low check are before going to 3 after a few high parts on the check were done on 1. I do not see a change until I hit 4 when on the adjustment dial but I am sure it changes the blade in some way because I can feel it when shaving that the 1 is basically useless that others have measured to the Gillette Super Speed Blue flair tip and the Gillette slip/Fatboy shavers on the same height so the 1 setting is only used on the light hairs of upper checks though I can use a 2 and for getting all the way down smooth if I missed some stibble that is quite stiff/noticeable on my skin.

    All I used was water keeping the head and more importantly wet because it had been less then 20--24 hours on the shave and probably under 15 hours apart but I did wet the face down. This was one of the smoother shaves I have had recently because the others I was using a little bit of soap and missing a full day in between or like one time less then 15 hours between I never cleaned the shaver in middle of the shave just razing the adjustment dial up and this was a dumb move I should know better than to do.

    I forget what number I am on of shave, but I know the shaver on the last few shaves the blade I am using from my Personna Made in USA 100 pack 2017 blades did work in after that initial sharp issue the blades seem to have.

    Now the 2024--2025 of the same Made in USA 100 pack is better as those after a period have a 2--4 shaves the blade needs to work in because the higher level of comfort coating is gone so I have to work in the blade at this point because despite being roughly the same sharpness the newer Made in USA blades are slightly thinner so the blade will feel/act sharper even if at the same sharpness.
