    Real nice shave today. Th Maggard brush and Stoylin Glacial soap worked in concert with each other 0:40 each way. . Clean&clear all over. No damages. I find that Iceberg Island to be the coldest of the Stoylin Glacials I've tried. 2 passes. Finished with Clubman Reserve Gents Gin. As Outstanding As It Gets.

    Tabac Wednesday 23 Jul 2025

    1 Days growth

    Hot Water Prep and Preshave = Derby Menthol shave cream
    Soap = Tabac
    Brush = Pura Setola
    Bowl = white plastic
    Razor = Gillette Popular 1939
    Blade = Euromax made in India (2)
    Passes = 2 and touch ups
    Post = Usual CWR, Alum, rinse, pat dry, Thayer’s rose petal
    ASL = Tabac
    ASB = Tabac
    Scent = Tabac

    Still a favourite razor of mine, maybe the sentimentality of its age (1939). The handle is less grippy than it could be but some alum takes care of that

    Tabac Full House again. This stuff is going to last forever!

    Thanks again, Chris. My mini focus revisiting my Gillette DE razors this month has been a joy. In my August focus I will be revisiting my Chinese Gillette super speed & Tech clone DE razors.

    I do get a good shave from my Gillette Adjustable slim handle model. Today was one of those days, see post below.

    Today's Shave was a good one, 10/10 even if not BBS but the next level from that. I skipped yesterday to get back to a normal morning shave due to the day I went too far with more cuts on my face on a shave that put me at night shaving.

    I shaved with my main Gillette shaver again, the issue why I was cutting myself on the last few shaves was I needed to flip the blade to the bottom side. I should have known but it took about 2 or 3 shaves to find out I needed to flip the blade.

    Used mostly water on the face and the head/blade of shaver though I did use a little bit of this small travel dove body lotion as well on my face as the lubricant just to get the shave done.

    Had to do some deeper cleaning because of skipping a day, my hair grows fast.

    A classic Tabac shave set up Chris. Those Indian made Euromax Blades are very smooth, with a good amount of assertiveness.

    Is there a benefit to using a blade so many times, having to remember to flip it, etc.?

    Another good one today. I must remember to keep the Jayaruh at the perimeter of the Stoylin Iceberg Island, as the middle is all done. Same for ANY brush I use with Iceberg, for that matter. Clean, clear shave all over. This time no problems down at Cactus Nation. 2 healthy passes. Closed out again with Clubman Reserve Gent's Gin-I discovered that is a nice follow-up to the Stoylin Iceberg soap. As Outstanding As It Gets.

    Can anyone come up with the year Osage Rub A.S. opened? The best I can find is somewhere in the 1940's, but maybe someone has a more precise date? Thanks in advance.

    Not really, but I do it because I can and to have blade sets last longer. I mean if I used a blade like my newer 2024--2025 Personna 100 USA until it needed to dull in for 2--4 shaves I am only getting 7 shaves and then the others same model of Personna from 2017 would be 1 shave because it takes after that 3--4 times to dull in where it is after the dull in period this in normal use the blades not cutting me at all, only rarely due to a mistake and I would have been needing a new blade pack every 100 days. Then the King C Gillette would be 0 shaves because it cuts/ripps out hair right away, then seems to be fine on shave 2 or 3 though I hate how thin the blades are as most are made in China except the few very early first release ones I still have that did not have a manufacture to them, these King C Gillette only last 30 days if that with most between 27--30 only a few worse. Now if I use a thicker dull blade like a Dorco 300/301 the blades tend to just rip out hairs so I can't use them past a 1 shave and even 1 shave is pushing it as I get 1/4 to 1/2 shave from the blades before they tend to pull on my face.

    My dad gets even longer but he is only getting the neck/under chin area and his cheeks/sideburns as his beard no longer connects something I see men born 1955--1965 (Dad born in late 1960) doing along with long hair for some reason. Also, my dad is sharpening the blades until they need profiling, so he gets 6 months to a year from his blade and why he can use my Dorco 300 blades I gave him some right away after finding the blades suck, then found the last 5 of the Dorco 300 in late 2024 I gave to him in 2024--2025. These Dorco 300 came with my Micro Touch One.

    I see you're jumping right in with your recent orders(from that Ontario company). I may do the same with my recent order for Throwback Thursday, but have yet to decide. Kent is great for TT(1777).
