Took me a long time, but finally 3017'd this fantastic, triple-milled soap.

    Mike's Honey & Grapefruit~~Vie-Long~~Leresche #55/Voskhod~~Iced Florida Water[IMG]
I always question posting a non-3017 shave in my own 3017 thread.
Then I throw caution to the wind and let er rip.
The Mike's is a stupendous soap/scent. I highly recommend giving it a try.
Froze my face off with a healthy splash of the uber-iced Florida water.
  3. An impressive challenge, congratulations!

  4. It is variety time until I select the next 3017 target.

This JWest is made from Iron Sand, I have no idea what that is. This tub of Tabula Rasa was not only underfilled but the perfromance seems to have dropped off from the last tub I had.

Koratt 7/8 half hollow for the win. I really like the AoS cream, it seems to better than I remember. This is a new tub so I am reluctant to take on such a big challenge.

My big 8/8 and extra long Friodur blade, always has a fantastic edge. Proraso in the tube is an enjoyable summer cream. For me it performs well above the bowl croap version.

I think this may become my next 3017 target, I will need to order a back up.

    MdC Fougère~~Paladin PK-47~~Leresche #55/Voskhod~~Vintage YSL Kouros
    No way
    this soap'll be a 3017.
It's only my second shave with this jar.
I have, however, 3017'd an MdC Fougère in the past.

  8. Still going for variety. For today's shave I wanted it to feel extra luxurious. A 7/8 Snail Forge Wootz steel with Mastodon (or some other ice age mammal tusk) scales. Yes it came with certification it is not banned ivory. A big deluxe Varlet brush, Zingari Man delivering some serious oud vibes finsihed of with Roja Dove Vetiver. To keep track of the time is a very rare MKII Nasau red dot, sold to me by a famous watch influencer and all around bad influence when it comes to aquiring shave gear or watches.

    Ethos Bay Rum~~Simpson D3~~Leresche #55/Voskhod
Rockin' some variety for the foreseeable future.
  10. Will be enjoying variety the rest of the week. Today's soap is Electric Sheep, always welcome on a muggy day. My trusty Joris razor loaded with a Chinese steel, a TSD related brush and finsihed off with Acqua di Cuba. Hope everyone has an excellent start to their week. Moonwatch with the hesalite crystal on the wrist today.

The one thing about variety is that you discover products that you really enjoy using.
The SMN is a perfect example.

The Voskhod was shot and combine that with the ultra-heavy Wolfman handle, it was like navigating
a crane around my face. The lower neck didn't appreciate it.
One wouldn't think it, but the length and weight of a handle plays an important role in the shave.

  16. Looking for my 3017 target so I dug into in the backup soap cabinet and found these two. Now I remember why the Catie's Bubbles is in the backup bin, it just doesn't perfor that well in my water, but I do enjoy the scent. I worked liked a red headed stepchild with the Chubby, just a decent shave. Vintage Piere Cardin left me smelling very nice. The Razo Rock XXX does perform well for me so we have a contender. Everyone is different and while I enjoy A Taste of Heaven a certain opera star calls is 'scrubber.'
    Pic - 2.jpeg

Cella is fine performer, but can I really 3017 this mostly full tub and handle day in and day out marzipan? Maybe it is time to do a run with my smiling razors? The yin to the yang of my classic Speeedy.

  17. My very first 3017 was a tub of RR XXX. Outstanding AdP Colonia dupe.
  18. Hey, Charlie.
Of all my Russian blades, the Voskhods give me the fewest "comfortable" shaves. I can get 4-5 reasonable shaves.
There are only three blades that I can push to 20-30 and they are the old Personna 74's, Gillette "Spoilers" and the Wilkinson Light Brigades. They are now pretty much unobtanium, so I hoard my stash.
I have a Red Tip and it is an excellent version of the SS. I love the knurling and the cap reminds me of a Fatboy.
I understand about the 3017. It takes a manly-man to attempt this feat. ;)

  19. That is reason I am doing the 3017, I want to get down to a group of top soaps I enjoy. So first I need to work through all the ones I bought in my search for the next best thing.
