All the shaving stuff came in today Sept/2/2025 and I spent 1 hour getting the shaver clean, the green was built up so much I had to spend time removing the shaving soap so much that was keeping the top from opening up. The knob had some kind of dirt in it. I then had to scrape the green off it because it had so much the shaver holes were about 2 mm smaller on of the 4 holes. The whole shaver was dusty despite the case looking like it had been cleaned, cleaner than in the picture. The shaver now closes properly unlike before it would near the bottom on one side jump up before fully closing. With the blades I had one whole 5 pack dispenser come out at one time when I was testing to see if they would open so I had to spend time opening up the dispenser to put back all 5 blades back. These Persona 5 blade dispensers are not 2004 like the seller description said but were old shaving blades from the early 1990's before the internet was big based on the logo design for Persona and no website. The dispenser packaging the would have been sold in the store with just fell open when I took them out but the backs I kept for my dad so he knows what all I got him, number of blades and such. I ended up with a cut from the trying to put the 5 blades back where I was successful in getting the blades back in after counting the blades in a dispenser because they all came out at one time. The cut that never had blood on the shaver just cut me as it took a bit to bleed. I then put 1 Persona made in USA blade I had of the early 2025 box into one of the shaver containers of Persona German Red's due to one blade 1/2 out of the package that I could not get back in after pulling out, I was going to put the blade in the shaver but thought you know My dad will probably never use the shaver or case just keep it on display so a blade in the shaver would probably just go rusty. This is for all for my dads birthday on November 16, so I have a shaver of his birth year in F 2, and 65 blades. The reason I got so early I was thinking 2 weeks ago (yes it took that long after ordering) that my dads birthday was on October 16 not November 16 and with all the delivery being slow due to changes in where the mail is sorted going from Huron South Dakota to Fargo then back to Huron South Dakota before going to Pierre (Pier) South Dakota, I wanted as much time as needed. Also starting in November people do jack up the prices online for the incoming holidays of Hanukkah, Christmas, and New Years besides the Amazon black cyber week every other online sellers goes with.
- from The Razor Emporium: SR-71 Slant made by the Holy Black Trading Company. - from Stirling Soap: PRAIA Shave balm, 2 PRAIA Splash samples because they are out of stock of the full bottle. 2 Au De Toilette sample spray colognes, can you tell I like this scent? 1 Eud Sigma wax melt. from Ebay: PAA moonscape brush scuttle, wanted this for awhile but PAA stopped selling it. Got a space scuttle as well because he wouldn't break up the package, it was only an extra 10 bucks, and my son expressed interest in it. from Amazon: Black touch up paint for the hardtop for my 2012 Jeep Wrangler. from Jetpens: a Pen stand and a maroon base black ink fine point Pilot fountain pen. from Aliexpress: an M5 8mm thread length 35 mm rod length post to replace the 20mm rod in my razor stand so I can stand my black Fatip grande Open Comb Razor with the hollow handle in it without it wobbling and slipping off. It was much cheaper on Aliexpress than Amazon which is why I got it from them.
The case came in as did my brothers that they switched to a blue model on me but only the day after the item had been delivered but the new phone for me, not yet delivered.
canadian tech, canadian gillette /valet autostrop VC4 silverplated set, candian single ring, hawkins and brimble shave cream and balm.
Do you have enough Canadian Tech models or is that the Canadian Super Speed Rocket models I am thinking of?
i have a sickness.every time i see a cheaply priced tech razor i rescue it..i have one of each of the canadian ss/rocket models, though canada never made a TTO(twist to open) razor, they were all U.S or Britsh made.Gillette Canada made razors from 1906? to 1955,then made blades and cases only.
Use the models as part of a retirement plan to sell via e-Bay the working models you cleaned up for higher then most but not too high where people are not happy. Also do not do what a bunch do on e-Bay and sell the models in a big group, those items as tools or shaving where all of them are from the same era of design/build quality take a long time to sell.
As a collector, starting out, those were some of my best buys. The standouts being a same era set of super speeds, a normal (with case!), heavy (red tip), and mild (blue tip) razor. Another 'set' contained a micromatic, a bullet tip, a featherweight, and a couple other Gems. Basically the full micromatic series line-up except for the micromatic open comb. I guess it just depends on the set and whether a collector of razors is looking for that set. My razor buying days are mostly over, and it would take a particularly rare razor or spotting an exceptional deal to draw me back in. With most hobbies, you eventually reach a state of equilibrium, where you finally have almost 'all' the things (you want), wet shaving is no different.
The phone came in Yesterday and the Case on Thursday. It took a long while for the phone to come in, I needed to insert my old SMI card into the phone to get the phone activated, the one thing I had no clue you could do on phones like the modern Samsung models. My brother had to help figure this out.
