Nice shaver, I feel like in the late 1960's when the shavers went to the plastic grip, the Gillette models became more basic less ornate but the Gillette models were since the Aristocrat/Jr model started becoming more basic in 1949/1950 but still a hint of ornateness like with the Super Speed flair knob and the adjustments on both eras of Adjustable. Then when the plastic grips were used to save money, the plastic helped the Super Speed and new Super Adjustable models look more basic especially the Super Adjustable where both main models of double edge shaver from Gillette over time get more and more basic to save money.

Today's shave was a 10/10 due to shaving after the shower on mostly dial 2 but did go to dial 3 for the chin hairs. Today is shave 8 on the top/total with the Personna 100 pack made in USA I bought in late 2017.

I used as always, my H 2 Gillette Adjustable slim handle shaver without the case.

I shaved today after the shower and did not use my shaving lotion/soap, I did keep the blade wet during the whole shave.

    good day gents
fine sunday shave with another recent arrival..
    the canadian gillette/valet vc4.
just like mu other valet razors but with a safety bar instead of OC
this razor is silver plated.so it was a top end model for valet.
the vc4 is also the last model valet produce before they shut down production aroun 1945.
    ***
added boiling water to the wartime built lancaster scuttle and made a lovely warm arko lather with the restored rubberset 200.
    smooth 2 passer,north to south,south to north,minor pickups
clubman whiskey woods decanted into a late 1940's woodbury aftershave bottle to finish
    awesome

    Good afternoon.

    Straight Razor Shave #614

    L'Occitane Plissoft Synthetic Brush
    TSD Orange SS and AS
    Stirling Alum Block

I haven’t done a straight razor shave on awhile so today was the day. I knew this razor needed to be honed, but decided to refresh it on my pasted strop. Big mistake! I did one pass and a burr on the edge bit me on the stache just below my left nostril. I knew it because I felt it. Hit it with the alum and it took awhile to stop the bleeding. Suffice it to say that I left it at one pass for a DFS shave. Finished the shave in my usual manner. Take care.

Rare find given that in 1946 Comunism came to East Germany so the Valet company kind of ended.

Yes, but the fact I kept shaving after the first hiccup when another was coming right after was dumb for the lower chin/jaw cuts the second set unlike the other chin crevasse that was a different hiccup I did not know was coming as let a set go after the second cut in the first area.

Today those cuts were gone when I shaved as they were not big at all each with just a few hairs ripped out that had more than 2 hairs like the chin crevasse one.
