What's Your Latest 100 Blade Purchase, And Why??

I bought 200 Feather blades recently. Does that count?

 

Several years ago I rated these as the worst blades ever made when I did a long run of blade trials. Came up with all sort of other names of them. Limping Sparrow. Diseased Vulture. You get the idea. And having tried them, I KNOW you get the idea.

 

Yep. I'd say so.

 

200 Treet Black Beauties. To get that carbon feel and sound when I'm craving it.

 

Horrible Horrible blades.

 

You, sir, are a brave man. Chinese blades are a minefield. There are some good ones, but I found a lot of bad ones in the bunch. I'd love to hear your opinions on all of the ones you're trying. Clearly we agree on the Moldy Chickens...er...Flying Eagles, but I'm eager to hear about the others.

 

My latest 100 blade purchase was some Gillette Platinums nearly two years ago now. Still working through this pack of blades, as they are one of my favorite blades to use. Considering getting a 100 pack of Gillette 7 O'Clock Super Stainless blades, as I was quite a fan of the ones I bought in a sample pack.

300 FlyDear blades on Ali. I really started to like them. Extremely smooth and sharp in my vintage Gillettes.

 

100 Personna Platinum Chrome (Reds.. blue packet/red lettering) an absolute dream in the Barbaros TR-1

I had High Hopes for these, but, they were just OK. They didn't hold up very well, and dulled after a couple of shaves. I wouldn't order these again. For the money, Suneko, or Gillette 7 o'clock Yellows are much better.

 

It was a couple of months ago, Amazon. I just got around to posting them, same with the Perma Sharps.

I got the Latest Personna 100 Made in USA blade pack in April 2025 from an e-Bay seller in where the blades were $0.16 a blade when Amazon had the price of the blades at $0.25 per blade fearing the blades would be only getting more expensive thanks to USA Tariffs before Amazon moved the Main Headquarters out of the USA to Canada temporarily.

Now prices are down to $0.17 to $0.20 on Amazon just stay away from the main seller of the blades because they get the factory oops of both Persona USA and German in the USA box https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0077LAJT2/?tag=thshde-20 but you are lucky if the seller gives you the German that just have the wrong stamp on them.

I got my dad on e-Bay his birthday gifts in September for his birthday on November 16 a 50 pack of the German Persona Red in individual 5 packs and 3 of these old thin blade Personna 5 blade dispensers from early 1990's new in package for having 65 blades.

I also got for dad's birthday, a nice shaver of his birthyear 1960 Super Speed the 1960's style with the longer slightly more flared shave knob in case (with a Persona Dispenser) for under $20 at $19.11, a Twin Stropper for Gillette style twin blades where my dad's came with the case and instructions as well as my own Twin Stropper no case or instructions at $15.78 for both Twin Stroppers.

I had to buy the items in September because they were either Auctions/for sale coming due soon or giving good deals for items that are often more expensive.
