thank you Chris.the gold rfb was from this set.i only used the baseplate and passed along the rest for parts.the gold plating was patchy so off it came.i added the new lc cap and karve handle and polished the whole thing,and the waxed.99 %of rfb models are silver or nickel plate,and mine were too nice to sacrifice one for the cause..some milady decollettee razors also had the "fang tooth" cap,like mine did.i kept it but not for this razor

Super shave Chris. I believe it's great to get super results with a less than keen blade. It means your shave technique is top notch. However, you have to know when to hold them and when to fold them.
I understand your perspective. The solution is to get an alum block. You wet the tip of your fingers and rub them on the alum block. By doing so, you will get a secure grip on any wet or soapy razor handle.
